Dog Buddy For Hire!
Safety is of paramount importance to me. I will do everything within my power to keep your dog safe and happy while in my care. I tend to do mostly semi-private and small group walks. I want to be able to pay individual attention to the pups I walk. I am always happier in the company of a dog. It’s a dynamic that goes both ways! I love spending time with all doggos and I suspect they pick up on that. Oh! And I walk for fitness and pleasure every day. Walks of any length (even extreme lengths) can be accommodated if your dog is a high energy breed. My first canine pal (a Lab / Spaniel mix) lived to 15 years old and my second dog buddy (Border Collie / Aussie Shepherd) lived to 17.5 years of age. They got plenty of exercise and all the ear scratches they could handle. I am not a careless person when it comes to the safety and welfare of your four legged companion. You have entrusted their well-being to me and that is a responsibility that I take extremely seriously. When I walk dogs, I have no issue with bringing along my own water supply. I never did let my own dogs (and I won’t let yours) eat random things off the ground or drink from public water sources (neither bowls nor puddles) while out for walks. There are no children on the premises and no other pets of any description in the home. My style of looking after your pet is very “eyes - on”. I want to be able to see your pet and what he or she is doing at all times while he or she is hanging out with me.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a semi detached home. There is an unfenced yard in the back, but I prefer to spend time exercising your dog while leashed and safe and in my company. I never felt fully safe leaving my dogs outside - even if secured with a proper outdoor lead - for extended periods of time. That makes for a bored dog and bored dogs get into mischief. I will never allow your dog to be off leash in public. Off leash areas are problematic. I have little ability to recall a pup who is new to me and have little ability to supervise your dog or manage their safety if they are 50 - 100 feet away from me. I have been walking pups with Rover for almost four years as of late winter of 2026 and have learned that not all pet owners are as conscientious as my clients, so no off leash area requests, please :) On the other hand, I typically walk a good bit past whichever time limit you have paid for and I tend to walk briskly. It’s not at all unusual for me to walk 5+ km in an “hour” walk.

Michael has been absolutely wonderful with my dog, Rex. From the very beginning, he has been kind, reliable, flexible, and incredibly easy to work with. He has always been accommodating with scheduling and has even gone beyond the scheduled 1-hour walks when needed, which I truly appreciated. Rex is a large, energetic dog, and Michael handles him with confidence and care. It’s clear that he genuinely enjoys spending time with Rex, and Rex absolutely loves his walks. Knowing that Rex was in such good hands always gave me peace of mind. Michael is professional and trustworthy. Michael is exactly the kind of diligent dog walker any dog owner hopes to find. He cares deeply about your animal companion and is willing to go above and beyond to make sure your dog is able to relief themselves and get the necessary exercise and love when you’re not there to do it yourself.

Schedule
I can accommodate most any schedule or need you may have in regard to your pet’s care as my days are entirely my own. Retired from my profession after 32 years. Your dog will be supervised by me throughout their time in my care.
