Information Michael J. would like to know about your pet
My preference is that they're toilet trained and ok to be let off the lead on walks, but this is just an ideal scenario. I'm well aware that the perfect scenario doesn't exist, and all dogs are different and have their own personalities and flaws just like us 'hoo-mans' do :)
A typical day
I love having a run around the flat with active and excitable pups, but am equally happy to relax on the couch or bed with them when they're tired, it's an excuse for me to steal an afternoon nap!

Pet care experience
An active and compassionate person who loves dogs! I’m a dog (and cat) lover but have never had one of my own. Living in a flat and not having a garden makes it difficult to rescue a dog or cat full time, but working from home and living next to the hills means I can do long scenic / countryside walks (and runs if dogs are willing) a few times a day. The main thing I am keen to stress is that whilst I've never owned a dog myself, I've been around them a lot in my adult life. I love walking them and caring for them if someone asks me to. I'm a very active person so any dog would be happy with me for a short stay. I love to relax on the couch reading or watching telly, so cats would get lots of attention too. I have a car which is insured for the year. I'm happy to travel up to 10 miles for pick ups / drop offs, as long as the dog (or cat) is too. I work part-time - from home - on weekday mornings, from 9am till 1pm, after that the day is mine to do as I please! Aside from house chores, shopping, and any freelance work I pick up. But generally I am always able to take them for a long walk in the afternoon. I am a 5 minute walk from the woods, and a 15 minute walk from the moors. Once there I can safely let them off the lead, if you're comfortable with me doing that!

Mike’s been a godsend for us as we’ve struggled to find someone suitable to look after our little Cavapoo, Minnie,. She's a very anxious and nervous dog, especially when she's away from us, requiring a lot of care, attention, and daily medication. Prior to her stay, Mike took the time to visit us several times to familiarise himself with Minnie. His gentle and patient demeanour immediately put Minnie at ease, and it was clear that he understood what was necessary to ensure her comfort and safety. Mike clearly has a natural affinity with dogs and his extensive experience were apparent from the start. During Minnie's stay, Mike went above and beyond to keep us informed, sending regular updates and photos via WhatsApp. Despite our initial apprehension, we were thoroughly reassured by his attentiveness and communication throughout. We definitely recommend Mike to anyone seeking a reliable and caring dog boarder.
Michael has looked after Jasper quite a few times now and we will continue to book with Michael. He takes good care of Jasper and Jasper is always so excited to see Michael!
