Exceptional Care and Activity
My partner and I have been working with animals since we were kids. Emily grew up on a farm and has raised all sorts of animals, including showing horses. My father is a veterinarian, so I grew up around animals and worked in the kennels while I was in school. We're comfortable dealing with various behavior quirks, giving medications, and we've always got vet advice on call if an emergency were to arrive.

Michael and Emily were awesome! They took our dogs same day we contacted them b/c our sitter canceled last minute. They bailed us out big time and were so flexible. Highly recommend.
Michael and Emily helped us immensely with a last minute dog sitting request for our two dogs! Both dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard and all the love they got while at their house. They came home tired & happy. We will definitely ask them to watch our pups again in the future!
My dog seemed very happy when I picked them up after two days at Michael and Emily‘s. Great fenced area and they also took them Nordic skiing. I would happily have my dogs here again, probably soon.
my dogs did very well at Michael and Emily's. Its such a relief to find a place where you know your family is happy and you don't feel like leaving them is cruel and horrible. The meet up before the stay was short but effective and made us feel comfortable. My babies seemed happy and well cared for. They walked, played, and met some fur friends. I would highly recommend this family!
Michael and Emily were amazing with our dog for a 4 night long stay - walks, bike rides, cuddles and playtime. They sent us pictures of our dog too and she clearly was having a great time. Their dogs were friendly and welcoming to ours. Our dog needs medicine applied to her nose daily and they had no issue doing that. Their yard was secure and spacious. Being in Gunnison provides a great spot for those traveling onto Crested Butte. Thank you Michael and Emily!

Schedule
My partner and I work at the hospital, but we have slightly different shifts. There are usually only 1-2 days per week where one of us isn't home. When we are both at work, our shifts are staggered enough that we can get home every 4 hours, in addition to morning and evening walks. We are both extremely active people, so our dogs get multiple hours of walking/hiking every day when we're not working.

Safety, trust & environment
We have an acre of land with two separate fenced-in yard sections, which gives us the ability to divide dogs of various sizes, or those who may be timid/hesitant around others. The lower level of our house has a separate entrance, so there's ample indoor space as well when the weather is too hot/cold to be outside. Pets will be indoors any time that we are not at the house to directly supervise. We walk our dogs multiple times per day, and have trail system access 50m from the house, so we're not reliant on just leaving dogs in the yard for outdoor stimulation.

A typical day
We have access to trail networks just a few steps from the house, so we get out for hikes all the time. Our dogs love to swim as well, so we take trips to the river on a regular basis. During the winter we do a lot of cross country skiing with the dogs if they're good on leash.
