NOTE TO NEW AND RETURNING PET PARENTS: I've been fortunate to receive an amazing job opportunity with a start date of June 1, 2026. The downside to this new role is that it will be entirely in-office, which means I will be away from home for up to ten hours each weekday. I will remain available for weekend sitting. I am also keeping my calendar open during the week because I know *some* dogs have a high level of independence during the day. You as their parent know them best, and we can discuss this if you see fit, and we can also discuss my discounted weekday boarding rate!

Safety, trust & environment
The safety and well-being of your pets is the most important part of sitting. Before you leave, I’ll want to make sure you tell me everything I need to know about both your pets’ personalities and your home, all to make sure they have the best time possible while you’re away. This includes house rules, feeding schedules, walk schedules, and making sure I understand how they behave around other animals. Looking to board with me? I have a pretty large English basement-style apartment with plenty of room for your pets to dash around. And, if your dog loves those kinds of environments, there's a pretty nice dog park just across the street where they can run around and socialize! This does mean I live in a very dog-dense neighborhood, so please keep this environment in mind when considering me for boarding!

Information Michael B. would like to know about your pet
Every dog and cat has their own cute idiosyncrasies that I'd love to know about ahead of time. Do they have a favorite route during their walks? What is their dinner schedule? Importantly, any health considerations I need to know about? Please let me know all this, and anything else that comes to mind, so I can be the best sitter possible!
A typical day
Every pet has their own personality and preferences which is why I always start with wanting to hear from you about what they want. Otherwise, there are so many options! DC has so many dog parks we could go to, and if the weather is cold, wet, or otherwise dreary we can bundle up and play with toys in the living room.

Pet care experience
I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs since I was a child. My relationships with the family pets, beginning from the moment I was old enough to talk, taught me the values of responsibility and empathy. Even today, when I return to Minnesota to visit my family, I love to help out my mom by taking on dog-care responsibilities for her aging black mix, ensuring she gets her daily exercise in. Jumping onto Rover just seemed like a no-brainer, and I look forward to bringing my love for pets to your home!

Reviews

Michael was awesome as always!

Michael deserves 10 stars! Max was so happy to see him again. Highly recommended!

Michael did an amazing job, he was very responsive and took great care of my dog Tom. Would definitely book again!

Tony continues to be obsessed with Michael and Michael continues to be incredibly patient with Tony and communicative with us. Tony has been totally annoying and unpredictable at various times and Michael has been so kind about finding ways to make it work - we are forever grateful!!
