Lover of animals of all sorts!
Growing up, we always had both cats and dogs, and over the years I've also had guinea pigs, mice, rats, birds, and fish. I have 5 years of experience working and volunteering in animal rescue, and have fostered over 15 dogs, and 10 cats/kittens. I am well-versed in the care needs of more "exotic" animals, like lizards, reptiles, and birds. I currently have three planted fish tanks of my own, and so understand well the need for maintaining water quality and feeding schedules and quantities. Overall, I have about 30 years experience with animals of all sizes. It can be a very scary thing to leave your pets with someone new, so aside from the primary goal of keeping pets happy and healthy, I aim to put you at ease with communication and photos at whatever frequency needed. While there are truly much more glamorous jobs, I find animal care incredibly rewarding, and would love to be able to care for your pet while you are away.

Micaela will always put your dogs first. She has watched our dogs while we were on extended vacations multiple times, with little to no reception. I would not have felt comfortable with anyone but her in those situations. I am always comforted with the knowledge that she will make the best decision for my dogs safety and well being if anything were to happen while I was gone or out of reach. I also really appreciate that she spends time exercising and working with my dogs while they are with her, beyond what I would expect from a dog sitter. I can testify that your dogs would be safe and cared with Micaela.
Micaela has taken care of my baby boi zipper on several occasions when I've been away on vacations. Zipper loves her and 10/10 would hire this gal again.

Schedule
I'm currently a student, with part time remote work, so I can really flex to the needs of your animal. I'm able to be very hands-on and providing constant care, or more laidback, and in-line with your animals usual schedule. Let's talk about their needs!

Safety, trust & environment
Your home is your pet's safe space, and I'd love to take care of them where they feel the most comfortable!! Additionally, we have fosters and resident animals that don't love intrusions, so all care will be in your home, unless otherwise established.
A typical day
Some dogs need physical exercise, and some need more mental stimulation. Based on your dog's needs, we'll spend time playing fetch (in a closed yard), running, hiking in Forest Park, or taking a long sniff walk to explore all the smells they can find. I'm happy to do walks in your neighborhood or mine, depending on your needs.
