🌈 When I was a kid, a cat showed up on my grandma’s front steps in Florida on a rainy, Halloween night. She let him in and named him Spooky, and he lived with her until he passed many years later. Ever since then, I have been obsessed with cats. I have experience with feral, stray/colony, indoor/outdoor and indoor-only cats. I have had a cat in my household ever since I was in junior high. I don’t consider my actual experience to start until I adopted my own two cats. With 16 years of experience with just those two, I have managed care that comes with cancer, kidney disease, pancreatitis, IBD, and diabetes. I have given oral and injectable medication and would gladly administer medication to your cat with explicit instructions (i.e. timing, dose, with a meal, etc.) With just my two cats I’ve dealt with oral steroids, pain meds, blood pressure meds, anti-vomiting/nausea meds, and injectable insulin (Prozinc and Lantus). I always test blood glucose before injecting insulin to ensure a hypo event will not occur. I’ve volunteered in Mississippi and Georgia at different cat sanctuaries. When I lived in Louisiana, there were neighborhood strays behind our house and I would go on walks just to see all my stray friends and give them pets. I will respect your cat by following their demeanor and body language. My ultimate goal is for them to feel comfortable with me and that I take care of them how you need. I know how quirky cats can be so if I need to hand-feed them wet food or spin around 5 times to get them to take a pill, I will do it!
