I'm currently at home most days while my husband works long hours in his office. My plan is to study online towards summer, but right now I have a lot of time on my hands :) Some of my hobbies are music, video games, going on walks and hikes, yoga/pilates, and of course... animals 🐾 My schedule is very open, so I can plan my days around your pet's needs.

I live in completely new 2bed2bath apartment on the 3rd floor. Our windows can't be opened more than a few inches, and they all have netting, so escaping through windows should not be possible. We also don't have a balcony. For plants, we only have 1 golden pathos, which I will be putting away in our storage room for pet visits. I know Xylitol is extremely dangerous for dogs, so we keep any potential gum in a sealed bag in our top kitchen cabinet. All other medications and food is stored inside upper cabinets, just in case someone is quick and mischievous...😃 If there's anything you're worried about, or any bad habits, like chewing cables or similar that your animal has, we can discuss that beforehand and I'll try to accomodate of course.

Information Mia L. would like to know about your pet

My standard rate applies to average, well-behaved pets. If your dog requires special care, is very high energy, or has behavioral challenges (such as pulling on leash or reactivity), I may adjust my rate to reflect the additional time and care involved. While I don’t currently offer standalone training services, I’m happy to support training during pet-sitting stays. For example, if your dog pulls on leash, I prefer to include structured leash work during our time together, as I always strive to make each dog’s experience more comfortable and enjoyable. This will vary based on the size and strength of the dog, but medium to large dogs that pull or pounce on leash typically require additional structure and support, both for safety and to ensure a positive experience :)

A typical day

I can rarely resist puppy eyes wanting to play hahah, it brings me so much joy! Those heartstrings in me gets pulled very easily, so the risk of your dog getting bored at my place is fairly low I'd say 🙈 I tend to talk a lot in my interactions with animals. I think they understand a lot more than we typically give them credit for. In my experience, it makes them feel safe and included, as well as it being stimulating. One mental stimulation I like to do with dogs is play "search", also called nosework, and it's a game where you hide out treats for them to find. It works for every dog and is a great indoor activity to do! For outdoor activities and walks, I like to let them take their time to sniff and read all the "fb posts" outside as thoroughly as they like. I don't force them to keep walking if they're curious to smell something when we're outside for their sake and happiness, unless it's something that could harm them of course, or if I'm training them. In simple terms, like dogs to be able to just be dogs🐕 I like to encourage their natural interests, which I believe contributes to a happier and more fulfilling life for the dog🐾🩵

Pet care experience

I only care for one owner's pet(s) at a time ☺️🌼✨ About me: I believe in a positive reinforcement approach with animals 🫶🏻 I grew up with dogs, cats, horses, and many other farm animals. Before I moved to the US, I used to pet sit and help train dogs in Norway. The person I've learnt the most from is Emma M. Garlant from Norway - a behavioral biologist and dog expert. She uses modern and science based methods! My childhood dog also had 3 litters I helped deliver, so I have experience with small puppies as well. I'll always treat your animal just like I would my own 🩵🐈‍⬛🦴🐾

Mia did a fantastic job dog-sitting for our lab! The updates were frequent and thoughtful, and it was obvious he was comfortable and happy the entire time. Her reliability and genuine love for animals really stood out. Highly recommend her to anyone who wants peace of mind while they're away.
