I’ve been a lifelong dog lover and currently have two dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you truly trust with your pets. My background is in education, which means I’m patient, attentive, dependable, and very comfortable creating structure and routine — something dogs thrive on. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I’ve fostered puppies and supported hospice animals, giving me experience with dogs at every stage of life. From energetic puppies who need consistency and training reinforcement, to senior dogs who need a gentle pace and extra care, I’m comfortable adjusting to each dog’s unique personality and needs. I offer walks, drop-ins, and boarding, and I treat every pet like part of my family. Safety, communication, and compassion are my top priorities. You can expect regular updates, photos, and peace of mind while you’re away.

How I Care for Pets Whether pets are in my home or their own, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. Structure, safety, and affection are my top priorities. In My Home (Boarding/Daycare): Pets are treated like part of the family. I follow your feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any training expectations you have in place. Dogs receive regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’m experienced with puppies who need consistency and supervision, as well as senior or hospice dogs who may need a slower pace, medication, or extra comfort. I maintain a calm, clean environment and always supervise interactions carefully. In Your Home (Drop-Ins/Walks): I respect your space and your pet’s established routine. I’ll ensure they’re fed, exercised, given fresh water, and provided enrichment and affection during each visit. I’m attentive to behavior changes and will communicate updates clearly, including photos and notes so you have peace of mind while you’re away. Because of my background in education, I’m patient, observant, and very comfortable reinforcing training, boundaries, and routines. I understand that every dog is different, and I adjust my care to match their personality, age, and energy level. My goal is always the same: your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for — and you feel completely confident while you’re away.

Mia is such a fantastic dog-person! She treats my two lab mixes, Loki and Thor, as if they were her own. I trust her completely with my boys and always know they are in good hands when they are with her. Not only that, but my boys LOVE her as well and always enjoy when she stays at the house with them. Mia will not only take good care of your pets, but also your house/apartment/property when staying overnight. You won't find anyone better than Mia to ensure peace of mind while you're away from your furry friends!
I can't say enough wonderful things about Mia! From the moment she arrived, it was clear that she has a genuine love for dogs. Not only did she take the time to get to know my furry friend, but she also made sure to understand his specific needs and quirks. Mia was punctual, reliable, and incredibly attentive during our dog's walks. She would send me pictures and updates, which put my mind at ease while I was away. I could tell that my dog was having the time of his life—his tail wouldn’t stop wagging when she was around! What really impressed me was her ability to handle different situations with ease, from energetic playtime to calming moments when my pup needed a little extra TLC. Schedule
I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding with advance notice. Evenings and weekends are especially flexible for me, making it easy to accommodate work schedules and weekend getaways. Beginning June 1, I will be located full-time in North Liberty, which will allow for even greater availability and flexibility for local clients. I do my best to be dependable and communicative, so if you reach out with dates in mind, I’ll always respond promptly.
