Availability
This is my full time job and I'm available weekdays for daycare ( I offer full day rate and a half day rate), seven days a week for boarding, check ins and sometimes overnight pet sitting. I limit the dogs in my home to no more than 3 or 4 at a time so I can give the individual and personalized care they need. I specialize in puppy care and assisting owners navigate the process of raising a well behaved, well rounded pup! I also will accomodate adult dogs after a meet and greet to determine if we're a good fit. ***For safety I require that all dogs are crate trained, or are at least familiar with the crate*** I will NOT leave dogs alone together unsupervised. At bedtime or when I may have to run an errand, they need to accept the crate. I will make it as cozy and comfy as possible, while providing plenty of exercise and enrichment throughout the day. Always SAFETY first.

Safety, trust & environment
There is myself and my husband living in the home. No children. I have two dogs that are generally kept separate, but are very well accustomed to new dogs coming and going. I have a small fenced in yard where your dog can stretch their legs. I also allow pets on the furniture, if owner approved. They may also get walks for exercise and to polish their leash skills during their stay. Dogs are ALWAYS separated and crated at night for safety, but introduced for some play if size and age appropriate. My goal is to keep them busy and entertained, while keeping them safe and comfortable during their stay with me! I would like them to feel like this is their home away from home, with the added structure of the crate for safety. If your pup is not crate trained, then my home is likely not good fit.

Information Meredith K. would like to know about your pet
Meet and greets are important to see if I am a good fit for you and your pets. Are they on any medications? Do they have any health issues? Food sensitivities? Any behavioral issues/challenges in regards to other dogs, people, and children? Separation anxiety? Do you have a fenced in yard for their potty breaks if I come to your home? Is your dog leash trained and know how to walk properly? Does your dog routinely visit large daycare/boarding facilities? This would make them NOT a good fit for my home, as the possibility of them picking up communicable illness goes way up with that much exposure. I'd rather not put other people's pets, nor my own at risk. The more I know the better care I can provide. **Please be prepared to have copies of proof of current vaccines and heartworm/tick/flea prevention**
A typical day
When a dog stays in my home with me, I love to keep a their brain and nose engaged and provide enrichment through games and puzzles. Exercise is also important and we'll take walks and enjoy the outdoors. If your pup has some challenges with leash skills and overall manners, we will work on those as well if you like. If they are dog social and I have another staying with me that I think they will get along with, I will allow supervised play with both owners consent. I can sometimes provide overnight care in a clients home, arriving at dinner time and leaving after breakfast. I can also do mid day visits between the hours of 10 and 3. Pet sitting is on a very limited basis at this time.

Experienced and reliable pet care!
Pet care experience
I began my professional animal career in an animal shelter setting 29 years ago, followed by working as a veterinary technician for almost a decade where I began pet sitting for a variety of our hospital clients. This varied greatly from senior and infirm dogs or cats needing medications/treatments, to their new puppies, to horses and other farm animals. I have an extensive background in caregiving which also included volunteer work on an ambulance service and caring for the elderly during those years. Helping others care for their loved ones has always been my passion, but animals are my biggest love. I left my veterinary job to begin a full time dog boarding/pet sitting business that I co- owned in southern VT for about 15 years. Toward the end of the pandemic I began taking dogs (mostly puppies) daily here into my Lebanon home after moving here permanently, for supervised play, socialization, and some basic obedience/manners training, as I no longer wanted to make the commute. I began making these connections through helping out co teaching puppy and obedience classes , and through neighbors needing care for their pets. From there it has been word of mouth. I have found that with the increase in dog ownership and working from home , there has been a real need for these pups to get out of the house, to build confidence, and to socialize in a safe and structured environment. I really enjoy working with puppies to help them learn the skills needed for loose leash walking, good recall, and overall good manners, so they can become good doggy citizens. Many return for weekly playdates well beyond puppyhood, so I am not limiting my clientele to puppies only. I am available to my regular daycare clients and their pups for overnight boarding in my home, and for check ins for their other pets (cats etc.) while they travel. My boarding services are also available on a limited basis to adult dogs after completing an initial meet and greet, and a few trial days of daycare to assess whether I am a good fit for you and their needs. My goal is for your dog to feel safe and comfortable in my home, therefore limiting any stress they may feel while away from you.
Reviews

It sounded like Bennys first visit with Meredith went well! My husband said he seemed happy when he picked him up. Meredith took pictures and we are going to plan another play date! Thanks Meredith!

As always, it is a comfort to have Meredith care for our pups. We know they are safe and well cared for with her. Meredith is very thoughtful in how she pairs dogs for successful play. Rosie has especially benefited from this.
Meredith took good care of my little girl and she was willing to literally go an extra mile (when I got lost on my way back). Much appreciation!

Meredith was absolutely wonderful! We have a nervous pup and she was so patient and understanding. Highly recommend Meredith!
