Happy pets make me happy
From puppies and kittens to beloved senior pets, I have been fortunate enough to part of the journey for many pets and I'm excited to welcome your loved ones into my heart too. I've had the joy of fostering many pets over the years, as well as caring for my own cats and dogs. Each foster pet has given me valuable knowledge and the necessary skills for caring for all types of dogs and cats, meeting their unique needs, gaining their trust, and figuring out how to administer different medications.

Pets are our family members and we treat them with love and respect. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pets in my home, I make sure that my personal pets are healthy, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccines. My house has a fenced yard and ample indoor space for all pets. Meeting a pet's unique needs is always a top priority, whether they need a quiet space to feel safe in a new environment or prefer to not be bothered while eating a meal. When interacting with pets in their own home or my own or even just on a walk, I make sure to pay attention to their body language and adjust my behavior accordingly. I want to earn their trust and make their time with me a happy one.

Meredith was an excellent caregiver to our two cats during a recent six day trip. She thoughtfully handled many details around their needs and the house, and was very good with them as well. We will hire her again for the next trip without hesitation.

Schedule
I have a flexible work from home schedule that easily accommodates potty breaks, play time, and walks for houseguests, as well as trips throughout the day for check-in visits outside my home. My children are in school on weekdays, leaving me at home with just the animals during the day. Weekends and evenings are typically low-key for my family which allows for all the attention and care needed for houseguests and check-in visits to other homes.

- I like to know how a dog reacts to new people and animals. Do they need some time to decompress in a new environment or to warm up to new people? Have they shown any resource guarding behaviors before around toys or their food bowl? I've had all types of personalities throughout my fostering experiences so I can quickly adjust to the needs of the dog. Even the friendliest dogs can be off in a new place and need some space to themselves. I'm always ready to do what's needed to make a dog feel safe in my home.
