I work my primary job from home so my schedule is able to adjust pretty well to accommodate all of my client's schedules and needs. I do not over book myself to avoid issues with emergencies, other visits running over time, etc. I do start a timer at the beginning of the visits, but I do not intently stare at it or scramble to leave as soon as the time is up.

I have a questionnaire that I ask all current and future clients to fill out. It asks about feeding, schedule, behavior, quirks, exercise, hiding places, trash bins, etc. to ensure that I can be prepared to handle anything that comes up. For example, I follow your instructions to the T with regards to feeding, whether it's wet, dry, raw, mixed, home cooked, or something in between.

I would like to know as much as possible about your pets, and I prefer the complete picture including all habits, behaviors, and quirks. ✨ Meet and greets are required for all new clients. These last around 15-30 minutes and we'll go over all instructions, meeting the pets, the lay of the land, and questions. I want to make sure I know everything I need to know, and I want you to get to know me and make sure you're comfortable with me being in your home and around your pets. So let's make sure we're a good fit!

I'm a firm believer in adjusting activities to the specific pet and situation in front of me. For example, if your cat doesn't like to play but loves to cuddle in a lap? I'll be their couch. If your dog is older, not really mobile anymore, and just kinda wants to lounge around, I'll tell them stories. My disclaimer is such: I do not and will not allow cats or dogs to roam freely outside. If your cats are used to going outside without being confined to a catio or on a leash, I am not the person for you. The same will go for dogs -- while I understand that you and your dog have a great bond, we are total strangers to one another and there is an increased risk that they may not behave in the same way that they do when they're with you. Due to those risks, I do not let dogs or cats off of leashes or outside if there's no secure containment to keep them safe. Exceptions are only made for working livestock guardian dogs on farms.
