I’m an experienced dog sitter with over 12 years of caring for dogs of all breeds and personalities, with a passion that began through volunteering at animal shelters. I’ve developed strong skills in all aspects of pet care, from daily routines to administering medications, while always prioritizing safety, comfort, and a stress free environment tailored to each dog’s unique needs. While you’re away, I make sure your pet feels loved and well cared for, with regular photo and video updates so you can stay connected and reassured. At home, I have a sweet and friendly female French Bulldog who gets along well with other dogs. I’m happy to keep your pup separated if preferred, or they can enjoy a fun playdate together - whatever makes you most comfortable. I also live with my partner, a veterinary nurse at a local emergency animal hospital, so your pet is in especially knowledgeable and capable hands. Mercadez was incredible with our anxious pup, Layla. Offered a meet and greet beforehand and asked all the right questions to make sure she was prepared to take care of our girl. Provided daily updates which we appreciated, and we could tell she took great care of Layla. She was a happy pup with no transition issues upon our return—we will definitely book again!
Mercadez was so accommodating and loving with my two chihuahuas! I felt confident that they were happy and comfortable with her. I had to extend my trip a day and it was very easy to do so with my booking with Mercadez. If she is available in the future I will definitely rebook!
Mercadez was fantastic! She communicated with us leading up to Nica's stay and during the entire duration - we felt very comfortable that our pup was in great hands! We highly recommend Mercadez and would love to use her again.
Mercadez took wonderful care of our dog for an extended stay. Our dog is typically anxious with new people but she sensed Mercadez’s calm and loving demeanor and opened up to her immediately! Our dog got lots of walks and love during her stay and we loved receiving photos, videos, and updates twice daily. This was our first time using Rover.com and we look forward to working with Mercadez again!
Mercadez is stellar pet sitter! She was excellent with communicating before, during and after hosting our fur baby at her place. She took awesome care of our precious angel. Mercadez is responsible, conscientious, dependable, very accommodating and super friendly! We very much appreciated the daily updates (twice a day with multiple pictures and videos) and how she was able to administer medication to our dog with an ongoing ear infection. I think our fur baby felt at home and had an excellent time with Mercadez! I’d definitely recommend her services if you’re looking for an impeccable experience for both you and your pet!

Schedule
I work a typical 9–5 schedule, while my partner (vet nurse) is home most days and works weekends. We coordinate our schedules to ensure someone is always home, so your pet is never left alone and receives consistent care. Sundays in the morning work best for meet and greets.

Safety, trust & environment
There’s a large open park less than 5 minutes away, as well as scenic walks along Eastern Parkway with plenty of grassy areas. For dogs who prefer shorter walks or has medical conditions, I also have access to a private relief area behind my building with plenty of room to move around comfortably.
A typical day
A fun day starts with a brisk walk around the neighborhood and along Eastern Parkway. We can also visit a nearby park with a secure, enclosed area for safe off-leash play and plenty of room to run around. At home, I provide lots of enrichment with toys like ropes, balls, chew toys, and interactive food puzzles to keep them happy and engaged. I also have a friendly French Bulldog who loves other dogs, if you’re comfortable, they can enjoy a fun playdate together! 🐾

- Please let me know if your pet has separation anxiety, needs medication, is house-trained, and is comfortable with stairs (4th-floor walk-up—under 30 lbs can be carried). Because I have a sweet, couch-potato French Bulldog at home, I’m not able to accommodate dogs who are reactive toward other dogs. I do recommend scheduling a meet and greet so we can get to know each other and ensure it’s the perfect fit for everyone! 😊
