I hate leaving negative reviews, and I’ve had positive experiences with Melodi before, but this was absolutely terrible and unacceptable. It started the first day - she was booked to come from 5-5:30pm. I’m flexible with the time, we all have busy lives, but honesty and communication are important. I didn’t hear anything from her, so I reach out at 6:20pm asking if everything was ok. She responded at 6:35pm that she was on her way. She started the drop in at 7:53pm but I could see from the cameras I have in my home (which I made her aware of at our original booking over a year ago) that she was not there, so I reached out again at 8:03pm and again at 8:18pm asking for an update. I tried calling her 3 times and she didn’t answer. She responded at 8:20pm that she was here and everything was great… except she wasn’t there. I reminded her of my cameras and that I could see she was not present. She responded at 8:21pm that Rover took her over an hour away and she was just arriving. I’m not sure why a drop in would be started if she’s not present…. Over the next few days she would arrive on time but only stay 15-20 minutes, even though I am paying for a 30 minute check in. I ended up leaving my vacation early because the lack of care she was providing was unacceptable and not fair to my cat. I came home to trash and dried food on my counters and in my sink, the litter box really didn’t look like it was cleaned just 24 hours ago, his dry food was almost gone… Overall the blatant lack of care and dishonesty Melodi displayed was not just unprofessional but it was really disrespectful to me and my cat. I will never book with Melodi again and can no longer recommend her to anyone.

Melodi was wonderful - our cats are healthy and happy after our several-day trip, and Melodi was reliable and consistent with her updates and pictures. Melodi played with our cats, sat with them and kept them company, fed them, gave medication in food as instructed, and kept their water bowls and litter boxes clean. We left instructions and daily check boxes, and everything was handled well and with care. We will happily book with Melodi again!
