I’ve loved animals my whole life. I adopted my first dog, Ziggy in 2009. Unfortunately, Zig had special needs that cut his already short life even shorter. I made sure his days were filled with love, fun and all of the special care he needed. Ziggy inspired me to go on to adopt a kitty, eventually another dog and volunteer with a rescue. Animals are such sweet souls that can teach us so many things.

I have known Melita for many years, when she adopted a very shy kitten that I was fostering. Before she actually took this kitten home she asked if she could come and visit the kitten at my home, which she did for several weeks. She explained she wanted to do this so that the kitten would get to know her in a space it felt safe in and start to bond with her before she took into her home. This is Melita, putting the pets needs first! I know from her visits and our friendship after, that Melita is courteous, kind, trustworthy, prompt, attentive to others needs and that means the pets she cares for as well as their owners. She currently has her dog named Lucy and takes such good care of her and they are the best of friends. I know, without a doubt, that’s the way she’ll take care of the pets she cares for too. I feel so lucky that our paths crossed!
