Certified Vet Tech Pet Sitter!
Hi! I'm a Registered Veterinary Technician who grew up in Colorado. I'm currently located in Broomfield and now work a corporate job (working from home since 2020). I'm able to provide pet walks, sitting, minor bandage changes, help with post-op patients, medication administration, nail trims (well behaved only) and transportation. I own a home with a large yard and I know how lonely dogs and cats can get! I have over 20 years experience in pet care with 3 years as a Registered Vet Tech in a clinic setting. I haven't worked in a clinic in many years but I still maintain my license in the event I ever go back to the vet field. I have a niche for larger, rowdy dogs that other sitters may be uncomfortable with (outside of my home only for child safety reasons); I can provide training tips as well. I do have a 10 year old daughter who often accompanies me on visits and will be home during any boarding. I also have a 3 year old son. I will ask you before bringing kids along to drop in visits. They’re kind with pets and well behaved. My experience administering medication: Absolutely - I'm a Certified Veterinary Technician so I can even give insulin injections comfortably and I understand the importance of medication administration times. I currently work from home and can provide walks before I start work, during lunch and after work, my boarding dogs love hanging out under my desk as I work or watching the world go by out the back window. I have a flexible schedule on weekends. My home is set up to be safe and friendly for dogs of all ages although our new house fence isn’t perfect so please disclose any quirks regarding fences and boundaries. My cats have a safe space in the basement and are able to find retreat through a cat door (I usually will ask about smaller dogs and chasing cats for this reason).

Our pups absolutely loved their time with Melissa! She was super communicative and sent regular updates and pictures. Both dogs came home absolutely exhausted, which we love.
My dog has had a lot of health concerns recently. Melissa did a great job of taking care of him and his special needs while I was on vacation. Communication was great as well so I didn’t have to worry about him in her care!
Melissa was the perfect fit to watch Charlie! I was able to go out of town knowing my fur baby was in good hands and she sent updates each day showing what he was up to.
Melissa was just perfect with our Westie puppy and with us. She is gracious, communicative and knowledgeable about dogs. We were gone for a week and we felt absolutely comfortable with our pup in her care…knowing our pup was in good hands really added to the enjoyment of our time away. I highly recommend Melissa and I know my pup does, too, as he was is a good and happy space when we picked him up.
Melissa is great! She is always flexible and does a great job. I’ve used her multiple times with my puppy and he always comes back happy and tired.

Schedule
I work from home so I can be flexible depending on what your dog needs but we love to spend time outside in the yard. On days we’re not outside, I try to provide enrichment through frozen treats.

I have a large fenced yard and the fence is getting older and has its flaws. Dogs prone to escape or lacking recall are kept on leash (sometimes long 50ft leashes to play).

Time I'll spend with your dog: This is completely based on the dogs needs - some of them need constant attention while others just want to be fed. Let’s chat to ensure I can accommodate the pet's needs. Extra house-sitting services: I treat a clients home as I would my own and I love coming home to a clean house! I can also tackle minor tasks such as bringing in mail and watering plants. Just ask!

- I do not have breed preferences, being a vet tech I was exposed to every breed of dog and am able to see the different personalities of each. I grew up with Rottweilers and White German Shepherds but really like Brussels and Boston's as well so I don't discriminate based on size. Please be transparent with any little quirks, I promise I don’t judge and it helps me care for your pups appropriately and keep them safe.
