Hi! My name is Melissa. I'm a life long animal lover, & have been pet & house-sitting for nearly 20 years. I currently live on Vashon Island, and while I'm unable to have dogs or cats in my own home (as I have two cats that wouldn't take kindly to that concept), I'm available to provide dog walking, drop-in visits, & house/pet-sitting services at your home on Vashon island. I also have experience with farm animal check-ins (chickens, goats, sheep). I am an extremely respectful & cleanly house-sitter. In addition, I only work part-time, so you can rest assured that your pets will receive lots of attention and exercise. Who knows, I may even take them on a field trip or two during my stay. Bonus: I'm a freelance photographer & my favorite subjects are animals. Photo sessions available upon request.

Melissa has been our first choice for animal care for years. We own a small farm that includes sheep, chickens, and kitties, and I absolutely feel they are in the most capable and caring of hands when we leave them in her care while vacationing. The photos she sends are fun and reassuring – and often more creative than my own photos! When I turn over my house key to Melissa, I know my home is with a trustworthy and reliable pet professional who will also bring in the mail and water a plant or two. I can’t recommend anyone more highly.
Our experiences with Melissa's caregiving have been so much more than we could have asked for. She loves our animals, and they love her. We know they are in great hands and will have all of the attention they want, and that all of their needs will be thoughtfully tended to while we are gone. We come home and the dogs often have new tricks for walking on leash or general manners. Another thoughtful touch are the photos and videos Melissa sends our way while we are gone. She is Terrific!
We know our pup is in good hands, with lots of belly rubs, long walks and endless games of fetch. We love getting text updates from Melissa with photos of all the adventures they're having together, talk about FOMO!!!
