A typical day
I love taking long “sniff walks” and letting the dog choose where they want to walk, as long as it’s safe. I also love and recognize the importance of providing mental stimulation - scent games, puzzle feeders, and other pet-appropriate activities.

Pet care experience
First and foremost, I’m an animal lover and love spending time with my own and other pets! I am a licensed mental health therapist who works from home so I have a lot of flexibility in my daily schedule for drop-ins and walks. I have experience working in veterinary medicine as a veterinary social worker. I deeply appreciate pets as members of our family and believe in the extraordinary power of the human-animal bond. My own pets include a 3 year old Akita mix who I got when she was only 8 weeks old so I’m well versed in puppy training, especially with stubborn dogs. Similarly, I have experience with reactive dogs. I also have two cats - Sprout, 10 and Binky, 7. I think cats are misunderstood and love building relationships with each unique cat personality I meet!

Melissa and I are housemates and I've seen her care for three cats and five kittens at a time--she is one of the most attentive pet owners I have ever met. She's very active and empathetic! Any dog would be very happy in her care.
