I would like to know of any medications or special needs that a dog might have. Also, it's important to know of any things that are known to cause the dog unease or discomfort. For instance, some dogs don't like people wearing hats. Of course, what the feeding times are, what they eat, are treats given, and any daily household practices that the dog is accustomed to.

I would first ask the pet parent if they have specific places that they like to take their dog. Or, just as importantly, where they wouldn't like their dog to be. Generally, I would walk a dog in a safe neighborhood with sidewalks or a dog-friendly park. I am not a fan of actual dog parks but would absolutely be willing to take a client's dog there if they desired it. Of course, play time with their favorite toys and snuggle time is always a must!

I've had dogs or cats as pets my whole life. I've always been the go-to person when people needed a pet sitter or someone to visit or walk them. I've had the most experience with dogs & cats but even looked after a Bearded Dragon! I set my own schedule for my regular job and that allows me to be flexible with my time. I can accommodate almost any situation or pet need. The house I live in does not have a backyard so I have to take my dog, Coco out on her leash. Whether it be her or someone else's pet, I always make sure to watch the door and secure the leash before proceeding outside. When walking, I am always aware of the environment and what people or animals are nearby. I adjust accordingly if I sense a potential unwanted situation about to happen. I treat other people's pets as if they were my own. Safety and security are my top priorities. I also do everything I can to make sure the animals are comfortable in my presence. I don't want any animal to feel upset or stressed.

Melissa is great and really helped me out on the fly when something came up with my scheduled sitter. It's obvious that she loves animals and does an awesome job taking care of them!
Thanks Melissa, you did awesome with our dog and I appreciate you coming out on short notice as well as the great communication. This was the first time I've used Rover and I was very impressed with Melissa and how she handled everything. I felt our dog was in great hands!
