Depends on what the particular pet needs. Typically I like to meet the pet first, especially if it will be a reoccurring visit. I would like them to be comfortable with me by the time I arrive to care for them. As well as I asked clients on the type of home they may have just to understand the environment better. If the client is comfortable, I’m also open to visiting their home before a house sit so I can get a better idea of the environment I will be taking care of the pet.

Any special needs your pet may have should be informed beforehand. I have worked with pets with special needs and have been able to accommodate them. I also need to know if they are taking any medication, diet and restrictions, known allergies, and any important quirks they may have. If they also have any medical issues, please inform me beforehand.
A typical day
Usually on a typical day, I like to take the dog for a walk and make sure they have enough water and food. Depending on their energy levels and how comfortable they around me and other dogs, I may take them to a dog park with their owners consent to burn off some steam. Cats will vary as I usually do drop ins to make sure they are fed and have water. I also play with them with their toys during our visit.

Melissa sat for my dog Hazel and our cat Sasha and was fantastic. Melissa is super professional, sweet, trustworthy, and it is clear she makes caring for your pet her priority. Hazel is a large, strong and reactive dog and Melissa handled her very well. I also get so nervous to leave the pets and Melissa was so reassuring and gave lots of updates and pictures. I will be re-booking Melissa in the future.
