My name is Melissa and I care for all kinds of animals in your home or mine. I am a stay at home mom with a very flexible schedule. Before becoming a stay at home mom, i received my bachelor’s degree in animal health from Kansas state university and spent most of my working career at veterinary clinics as an assistant/technician. This gave me experience working with and caring for almost every breed and also different medical conditions and medications prescribed by veterinarians. At this point in my life I enjoy taking a step back and raising my 3 kids. Rover has given me the opportunity to stay doing what I love in caring for animals and also provide for my family while being able to be there for my kids while they are young. I take pride in my ability to be punctual, reliable and compassionate with everyone’s pets and homes.

Melissa did a great job with our cat. She was always on time and went above and beyond what we asked. She even made a quick stop on the 4th to turn on some ambient noise so the fireworks would be drowned out a bit.
The communication with Melissa was great from the beginning. She came to the house to meet my husband and I and the cats even without knowing for sure she would be hired as a sitter. We really liked the way she documented the visits by showing us how she was maintaining the litter boxes clean for the cats, and the amount of food and water in their bowls. She also sent us photos of playing time with Bruce and Ruger. The cats were well taken care of; they had everything they needed while we were away. Melissa is a very good care giver, and I will definitely rebook visits with her. Thank you, Melissa.

A typical day
I like to keep your pets routine as you would do it. If they are used to you walking them a certain place I will happily walk them the same way. If they like a lap to sit on I will let them sit and be petted. My kids are always involved with in home boarding and love to lay down on the floor with them or let them up on the couches with them.
