I worked as a veterinarian assistant from the late 90's until the mid 2000's. I have been a certified high school teacher since 1999 and worked as a vet assistant after school during the week and full time on weekends. I have lots of experience working with animals of all types. I have my Master's of Science, my Bachelor's of art and am currently pursuing a doctorate while teaching. I have the Summers off and all the holidays that the Lee county schools take. I am energetic and athletic and love jogging and walking with dogs. I have never lived a day of my life without multiple animals in the house. I could not possible live without cuddling a dog or cat on the daily!

Melissa and her family did amazing watching my dog Bentley aka my second child. I was nervous about leaving him but he did great and they were great. She sent picture updates which I greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend her and plan to have her watch Bentley in the future if she is available.

Melisa was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Leo! She spent so much quality time with him….playing, walking, and really making sure he felt comfortable and cared for. I could tell he was happy and well loved while I was away, which gave me so much peace of mind. It means a lot to find someone who treats your pet like their own, and Melisa truly did that. Schedule
I will be available for full time pet care during the months of June- August and during the school holiday breaks. During the school week I am up at 4am and home by 2pm.

Safety, trust & environment
Pets are integrated into my family unit which consists of a super-friendly cat, and a 4 pound Pomeranian. I also have two teenaged daughters who love animals as much as I do and enjoy cuddling on the couch with dogs or cats and sharing a bed. If your dog likes walks, I LOVE walking up to three miles which I can also jog if required.

A typical day
We will go for many walks and check out all the new smells in the neighborhood! If permitted, we will travel to some fun walking paths to go for long walks.
