🐾 love them like our own! 🐾
I grew up with all kinds of pets! Dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rats, fish, geckos, chameleons, frogs, and bearded dragons. I currently have a 6 year old miniature Aussie, a 4 year old Bichon+Dachshund mix (both dogs are female), a sweet bearded dragon, and a 3 year old red footed tortoise! I am comfortable caring for elderly pets, pets with special needs, and even pets that require a more interesting diet (like live crickets 😋). I am around almost every weekend in fall/winter/spring and rarely travel for holidays. I personally know how stressful and costly it can be to have to board pets, and how it’s especially difficult for them when they aren’t used to being separated from their owners/away from home. My husband loves animals as much as I do, and our two children (8 and 5) have been helping us care for pets since they were babies! They are very informed and gentle. I would love to help you allow your pet to stay in their home while you are away, or stay in our home with playmates that are very accustomed to all kinds of four legged visitors whether it’s for the day or for a vacation!

Melissa is awesome! I highly recommend her as a pet sitter. My dog loved his home away from home. He was able to be on the furniture and sleep in bed with people. Which kept his home routine the same at her house.

There is a reason Melissa has all 5 star reviews and I’ll tell you why, it’s simply because she is amazing! We were very hesitant to board our Trixie with strangers, but Melissa and her family treated her as their own! I could tell by the many photos and videos she sent us. Trixie was in dog Heaven! We can’t thank you enough for watching Trixie Christmas through New Year’s! 🥰
Melissa is awesome and took wonderful care of our pup while we were out of town. We loved all the pictures and videos and she is our new favorite pet sitter! I highly recommend Melissa!
Melissa and her amazing family continue to be our puppy’s very favorite family to visit, ever. She gets giddy when we enter their neighborhood and is SO excited to stay with them. When we pick her up from a visit she is happy, well looked after and always in excellent health. We are so grateful for the extra care Melissa and her family take to make each visit special for their furry guests!

I have a flexible schedule and am happy to accommodate the needs of my clients. I would be honored to become loved and trusted by your pets by providing drop in care or boarding!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Services are entirely based on your preferences and the needs of your pet. I am happy to accommodate most requests for needs during drop in visits or while in my home. For boarding, I have a split foyer home and my dogs primarily stay upstairs in our main living space (floors separated by a gate). While we are home your pet would be free to roam the home and interact with us and our pets. If your dog is uneasy around other dogs, children, is not house trained, or is unable to be crated for short periods (such as if we need to run an errand) I would be happy to work with you for drop-in care where your dog stays in your home. Overnight crating is not required but will be accommodated if requested for your pet. If your pet does not crate while alone and you would prefer that to be the case while in our care, let me know and the situation will be assessed on a case by case basis. The safety and happiness of your pets and mine are top priority! Cats, birds and reptiles would be based on details provided by client for care needs and expectations.
Pets
A typical day
I love throwing balls for fetch and taking walks! For dogs that are familiar and comfortable with young children, my daughter and son love to run out their energy alongside a furry friend as well! I have two young dogs that love to play. Because our young dogs were raised with an elderly dog (our Maltese who recently passed at 17 years old ), they are very respectful of boundaries for dogs that are older and or not interested in playing.
