I work from home as a bookkeeper & tax consultant. I’m rarely away from the house for more than 2-3 hours. I will always keep my eyes on your pet, even when the pet is roaming around the backyard.

My backyard has a 9 ft. high, wooden fence. I also have a double gated entry, front-yard patio. I can also provide crates if needed. My 20 pound dog is 8yrs. old and he is very mellow & well behaved. He always welcomes another dog friend, anytime. We have a trusted routine for introducing new pet guests.

I would first like to know if your pet plays nicely with other pets. My house can accommodate separate quarters for your pet, if they're nervous around other animals, or if they ever need their own space. I'd never want your pet to feel uncomfortable or anxious. Safety is my first priority. I'm happy to feed your pet exactly as directed & I will gladly take note of anything you think I should know about your pet. I have a "New Dog-Client Q&A" to go over with every new client, on the phone, before we schedule the stay. I also offer one, in person, meet & greet. We can discuss it if you’d like another meeting. I am NOT the dog-sitter who will take your pet out for a loooong, rugged, runs or rural hikes. I will happily walk your leashed pet, out n' about, for 1-4 blocks & then back to home-base. I usually go for dog walks twice to three times p/day. I’d take them in the morning, then afternoons & again early evening. Your dog probably needs another quick visit outside, before it’s bed time for the night. We can negotiate a fair price, if needed. I am well aware that Hydration & hot paw-pads are always a major concern in the hot weather. Unfortunately, I'm not capable of withstanding the strength & weight of a large, powerful, spunky pet, if over 40 pounds.

Every 2-3 hours, I will let your pup outside to sniff around the backyard, at your house or mine. I can fit in with any scheduled, day or evening walks. Your pet can also roam freely in my large, securely gated, landscaped, back-yard. The pets I care for are NEVER left alone outside. Your pet will have lots of dog toys & sticks to fetch!! If preferred, I can also walk your precious pet (on-leash) around my safe, peaceful neighborhood. If your dog is an elder, I have plenty of space to rest, relax and put those old paws up. Please note: I cannot accept young, spunky dogs if they’re over 30 ponds.

There's no setting for that weight on Rover. (Unless your pet is an elder and/or they're very mellow) <--- My name is Melissa (aka. "Missy"). I'd like to care for your precious pet the next time you need some help. Do you have somewhere to go, or something to do? Let me help you, at your place or mine!?! You can book your pet for a caring, one hour, drop-in visit to your home, a few overnight visits, or an extended stay at my house. Do you need help at the last minute ... ? No problem. I'm happy to provide pet transportation, if needed. I can also help you fulfill the rules & requirements at a "Pet-Friendly" NOLa hotel, when the rules say, “you cannot leave your pet in the hotel room alone”. I work from home as a bookkeeper & tax consultant - This means your precious pet will NEVER be left alone for long hours, whenever they're in my care. I will be at your pet's side, while you take care of business or if you have a fun get-away planned. I’m very comfortable with many different animals & dog breeds, including elderly dogs that need a mellow, safe space with calm, gentle care. I pay close attention to what your dog likes & dis-likes, along with their personality quirks & individual needs. I enjoy caring for all animals, both young & old. I do not accept more than 2-3 dogs at a time. ((I USUALLY only schedule ONE family's pet(s) at the same time, especially if there’s a new dog client)). I always put in a great deal of consideration, before scheduling more than one family's pet at the same time. My home is very spacious, clean, well-organized & safe. I have a large, gated/enclosed & secure, backyard. The dogs that stay with me are ALWAYS supervised. My eyes will be on your pet constantly, while we play at your home or mine, both inside & outside. Allow me to love & care for your precious pet, while you take care of you. Let's discuss your needs. I do offer one free meet & greet. Other than dogs, I also have experience caring for: Cats, Birds, Bunnies, Turtles, Lizards, Snakes, Hamsters, Fish, Frogs, Chickens & Plants. Most of my pet guests are small, therefore any extra frisky, playful pet, over 30 pounds may cause physical harm, even if they are just playing. I'd rather not take that chance.

This was our first time using Melissa but it won’t be our last. My dog had a fantastic time. He was well cared for. Melissa was very attentive and provided us with lots of pictures and updates. While it’s always sad not to take our dogs with us when we leave it’s so nice knowing they are being well cared for. This was a great experience for both my dog and for us.
My dog Duke stay with Melissa was great. She was very attentive and caring with Duke and his needs. I will definitely use her service again when I visit my family again.
Melissa has taken amazing care of our fur babies. We continue to send our pets to her. She is trustworthy and truly cares for our boys. She is very thorough and sends updates per request. I would highly recommend her for your fur babies.
There’s no wonder why she has the greatest reviews out there! She was so wonderful and accommodating. She was very attentive and was sure to keep me updated with cute pictures and stories! We can’t wait to see her again.
