About Melissa M.
Safety, trust & environment
Your pet's trust is important to me. I will arrive into your home with a warm and calm voice, assuring your beloved pets that I am gentle and kind. Being a former vet tech, I am also trained and skilled at giving medication*, which can be done in the comfort of your home. *All medications must be veterinarian-prescribed with dosage instructions. No exceptions.
Information Melissa M. would like to know about your pet
If your pet will need medication or you have more than one dog or three cats, please book a 60-minute drop-in visit. Thank you for your trust.
A typical day
A typical 30-minute drop-in appointment for one dog will include: meal service and a brief walk or playtime. A typical 30-minute drop-in appointment for up to three cats will include: meal service, litter box scooping, and playtime (for up to three cats). For fun activities, I absolutely believe in the power of sensory enrichment activities to make an old friend happy. At your approval, I offer small treats to "hunt" in the backyard or in the living room – seeing them sniff out each piece with a pep in their step is a rewarding experience. If any additional services are required, please book a 60-minute drop-in visit. Thank you 🐶🐱

Senior & Disabled Pet Care Services
Pet care experience
Specializing in gentle, professional care to elderly and disabled dogs and cats. I started my professional career in animal care at the East Bay SPCA Veterinary Clinic in Oakland. Inspired by the importance of animal welfare, I would complete an eight-week internship at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, where I gained valuable skills in veterinary pre- and post-op care. Following that remarkable experience, I was a veterinary assistant for a holistic veterinarian at a private practice. Later, I returned to shelter medicine as a veterinary technician at the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society. This span of 25 years allowed me to develop and strengthen my skills and expertise in animal care, specializing in the needs of senior dogs and cats.
