A pet's best buddy!
I grew up with dogs, starting at the age of seven! I have learned so much in those years about how to responsibly care for dogs, while making them feel comfortable and loved. One of our family dogs was diagnosed with diabetes, so I am very comfortable giving insulin if that is something you need. After almost 18 years of living with dogs, I've also become comfortable giving eye drops, oral medication, etc. Aside from dogs, I have had hamsters and guinea pigs and was responsible for the entirety of their care. I also worked for an exotic veterinarian for 1 year. While I did not work with dogs but this position, it increased my confidence when it comes to working with animals in general. I now have my own dog, Remi. He has been a challenge but so wonderful. I feel confident working with very high energy dogs as I now have so much experience with one! He has inspired me to learn as much as I can about dog behavior and body language. I feel confident in support dogs and offering affection, as well as respecting their boundaries. If your dog is friendly and I am taking them for a walk, I’d love to bring my guy along but it’s not necessary!

Rocky and I are so happy we found Melissa! She took exceptional care of Rocky while I was away and is a great communicator.
Melissa has been caring for our two dogs for many years. She is reliable, consistent, and gentle, and loves our dogs as much as we do. She is attentive to their needs and never fails to give them all of the love and playtime they request. They enjoy the time they spend with her so much and light up every time they see her. One of our dogs has developed Diabetes and is becoming blind. He requires daily eye drops, a special diet, and insulin injections twice a day. Melissa made sure to educate herself on his illness and how to care for him properly. We trust her to provide all of his medical care and special needs. We are happy to recommend Melissa as a responsible and loving dog caregiver!
As Melissa's older brother, who lived with her for about 16 years, I can't say I'm unbiased. But I can also confirm that she loves our two dogs as much as any human member of our family. She's attentive to their needs for food, walks, and attention, and dutifully helps our diabetic dog Chance get his insulin (and treat!) on schedule. I would bet my life savings on her carrying that love into work with Rover, and believe she'll be an excellent, responsible caregiver.

Schedule
I am available Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in the afternoons for walks or drop in visits. Saturday and Sunday is great for walks, boarding, and house sitting! Monday and Wednesday I have school for a large portion of the day. However, please reach out if you need care on those days and I will see if I am available!

I will give lots of attention! I understand that people use rover when they have to be gone for an extended period of time. So I feel it is important to make sure that I am giving your dog as much attention and love as possible. I aim to treat them as you would: focusing on their well-being and safety while also providing a fun and enriching time together.

A typical day
I live in close proximity to lots of walking and hiking trails! I’m happy to walk in your neighborhood or take your dog out for a longer adventure! I have a safe and well maintained car and would be more than happy to drive to a shady hike or trail.
