Joe and Mel both work full time but Mel does work from home when not traveling so the pet would have ability to be let out at any interval and or kenneled very little. We like to entertain and be a part of your animals day.

We would like to know how your pet sleeps. We dont allow dogs in our bed, but bedroom floor is okay if needed. All dogs must be cat friendly.
A typical day
We go on daily walks. We usually do 1 walk a day - one in the morning and Mel runs at night that dogs are welcome to join. Sometimes we will even go to the nature trails to give the tons of smells to enjoy. We love going to do the dog park with them as well if they enjoy some off the leash type of activities.

Just moved from Kansas to Iowa!!! Huge pet lovers - cat and dog. Melissa has been a Wayside Waifs foster parent for 10+ years and Joe has never met a dog/cat that doesn’t fall in love with him. We go on daily walks together around the neighborhood and love adventuring around the lake together that we bring all our rover babies with :). We spend most nights and weekends lounging and grilling in our fenced in back yard and have tons of toys and balls to play with and throw in the backyard. All of our friends and family have relied on us to take care of their pets and would love the opportunity to take care of yours. Ask questions! Reach out to us and we can talk you through everything you could think of. Joe works from home so we are able to make accommodations anytime. We want you to know we will cover all your expectations plus more. We know how hard it is to leave your animals and worry. We will ensure that you dont need to!

Melissa and Joe were AWESOME with our senior dog!! They gave him daily meds and even made him organic dog treats! Daily updates were great to receive and we looked forward to seeing daily pics of Luke living his best life!
