I'm a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), and I have over 15 years of working with dogs in veterinary clinics, humane societies, boarding kennels, grooming parlors, and most recently, managing a doggy daycare and teaching classes for a dog training institution. I own 13 acres of woods and fields that allows for dogs to run and play, though boarders use long lines for safety. Each dog who comes into my home will retain basic manners, including waiting at doors, loose leash walking skills, and come when called commands. I'm experienced with and capable of handling under-socialized or even aggressive dogs. I simply work with dogs on an individualized basis, to develop appropriate relationships with each pet. I love dogs, all dogs, and they tend to love me back.

Melissa was great with our puppy, Sophie. Sophie took to Melissa immediately after being introduced to her. You can tell how much Melissa loves animals, which made it so easy for us to leave our Sophie with her. Sophie was well cared for when we picked her up and we definitely will be making plans to leave her with Melissa again. We are so happy that we found her.
I can't say enough about Melissa...I have complete faith in her ability to give my Phoenix a home away from home. Phoenix has the time of her life at Melissa's ❤️ I recently lost my daughter from cancer and Melissa gave me so much piece of mind taking care of my Phoenie so I could be with my daughter...Thank you Melissa for everything ❤️
Melissa was amazing! I highly recommend her....my 4 month old staffy, Phoenix, stayed with her for 5 days. We were able to visit her a couple times and meet her dogs before leaving...Phoenix did great and Melissa took care of her as I would. I consider Melissa a friend and will definitely use her services again without question ❤️

Melissa clearly loves and understands dogs and their behavior. She showed a great deal of patience making my dog Lucy feel comfortable in a space devoted to letting dogs be dogs.
Melissa is a total dog pro. She is a trainer by trade and can read a dog better than anyone, maybe even their parents! She was so loving to our anxious guy, even sleeping on the floor next to him. We got lots of updates and pictures throughout his stay, really appreciated the thorough communication. She did have a full house the weekend Scoot was there, so there were a full seven other dogs there. (Our guy's anxiety was in part due to that, he was pretty overwhelmed.) If that is a deal breaker for you, may not be the best fit. But Melissa is top notch and if your dog likes lots of dog friends to play with, this is for you.

My dogs, boarding dogs, and I like to walk in the woods, and hang out in my HUGE yard. I have a wide variety of dog toys, including puzzle toys and treat toys, and we love playing silly games like "find the cookie" and "hide and seek"
