Availability
House sitting allows me the freedom to travel while working and studying, and most importantly I get to treat your pets as my own. I’m active and love to wild swim and hike, however the homebody is very much within me. Cuddles and adventures on tap as well as long walks which are even better when joined by furry friends. A typical day with me as your pet sitter is calm, attentive and centred around your animals’ routines. I start with feeding, walks and any medications, followed by playtime, companionship and keeping the house and garden cared for if required. Throughout the day I often spend a lot of time at your home and adapt to their needs to ensure they feel safe, settled and loved, with regular updates to keep you feeling relaxed while you’re away.

I’ve been a devoted dog mum and self-confessed cat whisperer for over ten years, caring for homes and animals across South Africa and the UK. References are available upon request. I’m green-fingered and deeply animal-loving, with particular affection for horses and hands-on experience caring for them. I’ve been a pet parent for most of my life and have shared my home with rabbits, hamsters, fish, birds, dogs, cats… and even a snake at one point. Growing up around farms also gave me early experience with farm animals. I hold a full UK driving licence and am confident driving most vehicles, making me flexible and reliable for rural or remote sits. Homeowners value my calm, attentive presence and the genuine care I bring to their animals and homes and I treat every sit as if it were my own.

Melissa did a housesit for us and our German Shepherd and three cats. She was very responsive, sent regular updates, and all the animals immediately took to her. We had never had a house sitter before, but Melissa put us at ease and we came home to a very relaxed house. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter and will happily have her back in the future.
Melissa has cared for my cat four times now and I would use no other pet sitter. My cat absolutely adores her, she sends me photos of them snuggled on the sofa, and he is usually very tentative with people! Our last trip was almost three weeks long and I didn't have to worry about Rafa at all. Melissa sends me regular updates about him and lots of photos to share with the children when they are missing him. Her care and attention is second to none and I couldn't trust her more with my fur baby.
Melissa is my pup's designated dogmother/godmother for almost ten years and has a real affinity for furry kids. I'm happy to recommend her highly as a sitter, walker, whisperer and all-round dog's best friend. To that, she also is a friend of cat, and is able to elicit cuddles from even the most aloof cats around. She's purrfect for the job!
