Pet Lover in Northern NJ!
Grew up with a husky, Japanese chin, a bitey cat and collected strays on the walk home from school. Inherited a guinea pig and raised a free roam holland lop rabbit. Compassionate and adoring care taker and animal lover! I, Melissa, am the primary caretaker. My son, Dom, only steps in my place if I have an unexpected conflict.

Safety, trust & environment
I’ll abide by your instructions first because you know your pet best. I make sure the pet(s) have time to acclimate to any new space and talk them through any areas, then I introduce them to anyone new (my respectful daughter sometimes joins on walks) and let them sniff around. I make sure they have and know where their water, food, bed, and door is. In your home, after their food/water is filled and litter/pad is cleaned, I wash anything in the sink (I try to make sure the sink is always clear). I play with the pet and take any garbage/bags with me to avoid stinking up the house. I do not drink or smoke.

Melissa did a great job watching my 3 cats for a week. Of course, power got knocked out and turned off my connection to their feeder, litterrobot and my front door! She handled it like a champ and made sure the furbabies were loved and taken care of.

Leaving our two cats for over two weeks was the hardest part of our trip, but from day one we knew they were in the best hands. She took such incredible care of them and showed them so much kindness. Getting regular updates and photos meant the world to us. It was such a relief to see them looking happy, comfortable, and completely at ease. It's so clear she genuinely loves what she does, and the cats absolutely adored her right back. Coming home to two relaxed, content cats was amazing. We're so grateful for the attention she gave them, and it let us actually enjoy our vacation without constantly worrying. We couldn't recommend her more highly. If you want someone who will treat your pets like her own, she's the one. Thank you for everything. We’d trust her with our cats again in a heartbeat!
Melissa was very attentive and took so much care of my insane girls. She sent me very detailed updates and lots of cute pictures.

Schedule
I exercise daily and made a habit of jogging with my high energy husky as a youth. Nowadays I’m up early to get my daughter ready for school by 7:30AM and am ready to dedicate personal attention to a pet after drop off. I tend to emails and errands in the late morning and am ready to run with the pack until mid afternoon! I have clients and a career to tend to (I am typically available at least 2-3 days per week), but your fur babies are highlights of my day, please ask if you need coverage!
