My name is Melissa and I grew up with dogs all my life. I’ve had a Great Pyrenees for 11 years of my life and was responsible for walking him, feeding him, and taking care of him especially when he got older. Not only do I take really good care of dogs, I also just love playing with them and hanging out with them like a friend. I’m very mindful of their needs and always make sure they have enough food and water and have gone to the bathroom. I’ve also dogsit many of my friends dogs that range from small corgis to large golden retrievers and they all end up wagging their tails while hanging out with me! Therefore, I have experience with many different types and sizes of dogs!

Really glad to have left our old Shih Tzu, Viggo, to stay with Melissa. Booking and coordinating times was super easy, we really appreciate the great photos and updates throughout the visit. Melissa was amazing and caring towards Whiskey. We didn’t have to worry about her stay for 2 nights. Only thing: we would have loved to receive more pics and update about Whiskey from Melissa rather than following every time to check on her. Schedule
I can help out mainly weekends for short term visits. For longer term stays, I’m also available to dog sit as I primarily work from home. Therefore I currently have plenty of time to take care of dogs throughout the week.

I have two other roommates who are also very experienced with dogs. We have dogsitted at least 4 different other dogs in our current home.
A typical day
I love to take the dogs I dogsit to the nearby dog parks downtown. I like to take them in the morning and watch them play with other dogs for at least 45 minutes. I also like to take them by the sea wall and walk along there. I also like to play catch with the smaller dogs at home.

- Let me know if your dog has special dietary restrictions, allergies or mental health needs. I’ve taken care of dogs who either love to eat all the time or like to take their time with their meals. Either way, I make sure the dogs are eating a healthy balanced amount everyday and even hand feed them if need be.
