Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a highly passionate & experienced pet caretaker with over 5 years of working professionally with Rover! As a life-long animal lover & owner myself, I feel so lucky to have been able to build a career providing exceptional care for them. I take the health & happiness of our four-legged babies very much to heart. I was raised in a household where the animals are family members & will be treated as such whether it was the dog, cat, guinea pig, rabbit, hamster, fish...you name it! My pup clients have ranged from tiny Yorkies up to giant Great Danes spanning in age 7 weeks-18 years. And cats have become about half of my business! I was a cat obsessed child & all my amazing kitty klients have reawakened that for me as an adult. I am currently mom to 6 year old Dorothy & 1.5 year old Dawson, both Pomeranian rescues! They light up my life daily & I couldn’t imagine life without them. You can read more about them under My Pets! My previous babies are Bailey, a chihuahua I adopted at birth-she made it to 17- & my first Pom rescue, Bobby, who passed at 11. I have a lot of experience with special needs/senior pets & have the biggest soft spot for them! With a professional background of over 15 years in emergency communications, safety & security are a top priority when it comes to not only protecting your pets but your residence & personal property as well. I am also Red Cross certified in Pet CPR & keep their first aid kit handy just as a precaution. I would love the opportunity to gain your trust & give you the peace of mind that your little one(s) are well looked after when you can’t be there yourself. Because a house just isn’t a home without them!

Schedule
My full time job is as an Executive Assistant in Real Estate. I work fully remote 90% of the time with local in-person tasks needed from time to time but still flexible.

Safety, trust & environment
For boarding & doggy day care, I live in a cozy 3 bedroom house with a big back patio & spacious backyard that is fully fenced, private & secure. I personally choose to let the animals have full reign while in my care including getting on furniture-what’s mine is theirs. But of course whatever boundaries are preferred I will follow. I am happy to accommodate any environmental needs your pet(s) need. As far as walks & drop ins in your own home, I am always very organized & vigilant when it comes to keeping track of keys, codes & any other method of access & re-securing everything after each visit. I am always very careful with leaving doors open to where any pet could escape as well. My chihuahua was what I called ‘a runner’-she found me chasing her a very good time- so I’m ALWAYS extra aware for any potential escape artist!

Every pet is so different as far as their interests, routine & likes/dislikes, just like us humans! My plan is to cater to exactly what will make your unique baby the absolute happiest, whatever that may be!
