I've cared for cats and dogs for 40+years, including 8 years as a foster and volunteer for Homeward Bound Pug Rescue. Old or young, playful or mellow, I love caring for pets. I've completed Red Cross First Aid for Dogs and Cats training. House sitting in a pet's home or in my own has been a part of my life for years. Your pet will be safe and loved in my care. I have experience with caring for special needs pets, including giving medication, expressing bladders, and helping pets who use wheelie carts.

Melissa was great! She helped us out at the last minute after another sitter bailed on us. One of our cats was a bit under the weather, but Melissa gave her oral meds and fixed her up before we got back.

Schedule
I work full time from home, on a flexible schedule. If your pets get along well with others, they are welcome to 'supervise' me in my office as I work. Frequent potty/play/attention breaks are built in to my days and evenings. If I'm sitting in your house, I can adjust my schedule to your pet's needs.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a large fenced back yard, with plenty of room to run and explore, or for older pets to soak up some sun. When weather allows, I spend a lot of time outside with my dogs. I do not leave dogs in the yard unsupervised. Pets mostly have the run of the house if they have the temperament to get along with other dogs, but I can also provide a quiet, pleasant room for pets who prefer not to hang out with others. NOTE: although I accept unneutered/unspayed pets for boarding and day care, I do my best to make sure that all pets in my care remain safe. For example, if I have a small dog staying with me, I may not accept a larger unneutered male at that time for the safety of all pets.

Dogs are able to play or relax in my securely fenced back yard. Please feel free to bring your pet's special toy or bed to help make them feel more at home if they are staying with me.
