Hi, may I pet your dog?
I’m a professional woman, early 40’s, no kids, no other pets, non-smoking home, and live in a townhome in Coto. I work from home when I’m not traveling to client sites- I’m a healthcare compliance consultant. I learned about Rover years ago after using it for my own former pets. My dogs: lab/pit mix, and a terrier mix, and two cats- all rescues. I also grew up with snakes, lizards and fish because I have a sister who is allergic to fur, so home-sitting reptiles is not a problem. As I mentioned, I travel often and don’t think having my own pet is a responsible, caring choice at this time. So, instead, I’d love to take care of your fur babies when I’m not traveling. Because I work from home, you can expect my 24/7 attention. During the day, conference calls can be taken during long walks, or I can work on my laptop from the dog park. I’d love to have them snooze at my feet in my office as I type away. In the evening it’s just Netflix and play. While I don’t have my own backyard, I’m just steps from one of our amazing trails, so frequent potty breaks are easy. I’m comfortable with animals on my furniture or co-sleeping. But I also am comfortable with crating as I did this with my larger dogs. Pets with special needs are welcome. Please supply any special toys, treats, food, and maybe even one of your old tee-shirts to help with the temporary transition. Also, I prefer to do a quick pre-sit meet and greet to ensure that everyone is comfortable, and you’re welcome to come see my home if I’ll be hosting.

She gave our pup great care. She was very attentive and flexible. Kept us well informed with lots of photos. We were super comfortable knowing our little girl was getting lots of attention and being well cared for. We highly recommend.
I've known Melissa for over a decade and her love for animals of all types is incredible. Not only is she attentive and caring towards all critters but she has a genuine joy to make them happy, play with them, make sure they are healthy and well taken care off. She will always be looking out for the best for your dog, as if he/she were her own. Can't recommend her enough, she house sits my animals when I am away.

Schedule
I work from home, so I am generally available 24/7. I will plan my schedule around a booking. I will never leave your pet home alone during a visit. If I need to step out I will do my best to alert you in advance and will have my pet-friendly boyfriend of 8 years step in for an hour or two.

I really want to mirror your existing schedule as much as possible to prevent pet anxiety. Please leave instructions and I’m happy to follow them.
A typical day
I try to take pets on several short walks every few hours to prevent accidents. If the pet prefers long walks, we can do that too to tire them out. I am also very pro-nap. I’m happy to play fetch, lead enrichment games, or even light reward based training (sit, stay).
