Hi! I’m Melissa (with Melissa's Pet & Home Care), a lifelong pet lover with experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, personalities, and needs. I know how important it is that you have a reliable, caring sitter for your fur babies & home while you're away. I previously cared for my own 90-lb dog who had allergies, chronic ear infections, high anxiety, and later bone cancer, so I’m very familiar with special-needs care, medications, and helping pets feel safe and comforted through anything. I’m patient with anxious or sensitive pets, and I understand how much they miss their humans when you’re away. <3 I’m happy to take active pups on long runs, go for slow sniff walks, or just offer cuddles and company. I’m also comfortable handling dogs that pull or never quite figured out leash manners. I’m not a trainer, but I can keep them safe and in hand. :) Just tell me what your pet needs, and I’ll follow their routine to keep them comfortable, happy, and cared for. Your pet gets my full attention, and I’ll keep you updated with messages and tons of photos so you always know how your pet is doing. I offer dog walking, 30-90min drop in visits for dogs and cats (all sizes and ages, I love em all!), and boarding dogs in my apartment. I do not do house sitting (staying in your home overnight), or boarding cats at my home (sadly, my husband is super allergic to cats.) But I know a few awesome people that do, so feel free to reach out if you are having trouble finding a great house sitter!

My old guy loved staying with Melissa. After our initial meet-and-greet, he went straight up to Melissa and leaned against her for some love the morning I dropped him off. She is very attentive, easy to communicate with, and provides a great home for dogs. I 100% recommend Melissa if you need to find someone to watch your pup.

A lifesaver! Melissa was able to help me in a last minute request to watch my dog that has separation anxiety. A 100 pound malamute mix hung out on her couch and loved the attention, staying safe, happy, and healthy. I appreciate Melissa so much!
Melissa was great with our pups, even when they got sick
Melissa was nothing short of incredible!! From the moment we arrived for the meet and greet, both of my dogs felt completely safe and at home. In fact, when I brought them back for their stay, they got so excited as soon as they realized where we were going! And that was just the beginning. Melissa kept me updated every day with pictures, notes, and little updates about how the dogs were doing. As a dog mom, it made my trip so much more enjoyable knowing they were not only being well cared for, but genuinely loved on. She truly went above and beyond. When one of my dogs developed a little heat rash, Melissa went out of her way to get her a soothing spray and even gave her an oatmeal bath to make sure she was as comfortable as possible. That level of care meant so much to me. The hardest part of the entire experience was getting them back into the car to go home because they were having so much fun! I cannot recommend Melissa enough. I felt completely at ease leaving my dogs with her, and I know they can’t wait to go back!

Schedule
I do this full time, so I’m able to provide frequent walks, playtime, and check-ins. I make sure to communicate expectations clearly so each pet gets consistent attention and care. I never overbook myself, so your pet always gets plenty of one-on-one time.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and comfort come first. When I’m in a client’s home, I follow their exact routines and respect their space. I double-check that doors and gates are secure, can clean up after pets as needed, and make sure each pet feels safe while you’re away. I'll send plenty of updates and photos so you always know how things are going. And if you need a plant watered, a fish or small animal cared for, or some quick household chores taken care of, please just let me know! We can discuss pricing based on what you need. :)
A typical day
A typical day depends on what your pet enjoys! For active pups, we’ll go on walks, runs, or explore nearby green spaces for sniffing and stretching their legs. For cats and more relaxed or anxious dogs, we might focus on gentle play, enrichment toys, or quiet cuddle time. I love mixing physical exercise with mental stimulation, so we might practice simple cues, play with puzzle toys, or go on slow “sniff walks” that make them feel more comfortable. Throughout my visits, they’ll get plenty of love and attention- or whatever keeps them happiest.

- It’s helpful for me to know anything that keeps your pet comfortable and safe. This includes their daily routine, feeding schedule, any medications they take, allergies, anxiety triggers, or quirks in their behavior. If they pull on the leash, prefer slow-paced walks, or have specific fears (like loud noises or other animals), I want to know so I can make their stay as smooth and stress-free as possible. I’m experienced with special-needs pets, anxious animals, and big dogs with big feelings. The more details you share, the better I can care for them exactly the way you do.
