Experienced Animal Lover 💚🖖🏼

Hi, I'm Mel! I grew up surrounded by pets, and that passion grew into a lifelong career in animal care. I bring over a decade of professional facility experience to Rover, including serving as a Pack Leader at Tailwaggers Doggy Daycare and spending seven years as a specialized Caregiver at the world-renowned Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. There, I worked with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and behavioral needs, including dog-selective and dog-aggressive behaviors. Currently, I keep my skills sharp working part-time as a Kennel Technician at a daycare and boarding facility right here in Green Bay. Because of my professional background, I’m highly experienced with administering medications, recognizing subtle body language, and reinforcing basic training. I know how important routine is, so I am more than happy to strictly follow whatever household rules you have set for your pet. Whether your furbaby is a social butterfly or a quiet soul who needs a patient, gentle approach, I have the intuitive skills to make them feel safe and loved. When I’m not caring for your pets, I’m hanging out with my own senior "puppy," a 9-year-old dog named Alba (pictured with me!), and my 14-year-old "kitten." I love house-sitting, overnight stays, and dog walking, and my ultimate goal is to give you total peace of mind while you're away. I can’t wait to meet your furbabies!

House Sitting • Jun 23, 2026

We give Melissa our HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! She was a pet sitter for us for 6 days/5 nights! We just moved to the area and needed to find a responsible person to take care of our dog while we were out of town. Melissa was super responsive, highly professional and extremely trustworthy. Our pet has a significant medical condition and Melissa kept us updated and was extremely comfortable handling any special needs. She left our home in better condition that we left it. She went above and beyond to take care of our dog and we so appreciated it! We have used many pet sitters in the past, but Melissa was a step above all others!

To whom it may concern, I have been fortunate enough to know Melissa for many years, both in a professional setting as well as a personal friend. We met at Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah where we were both Caregivers in the “dog town” area. Melissa was working in a specific area in which the dogs were notable to have behavioral challenges, whether related to dynamics with other dogs or people. She is very skilled at reading dog body language and cues to ensure the dog’s safety, as well as her own while properly caring for him or her. She is able to facilitate playdates between dogs and knows appropriate methods to intervene if needed. Although Melissa was working with dogs, she has always had a love for all animals and has had fur-babies of her own: dogs and cats. She has had a soft spot for kitties for as long as I have known her, and goes above and beyond in caring for any animals in her care - she treats them as her own. When we lived in the same town, she would be my personal go-to person when I had concerns regarding my fur-babies or was in need of pet sitting. Melissa is a responsible, compassionate, trustworthy, hard-working individual who would be a strong asset to the Rover team in caring for any and all types of animals.

Melissa is one of the very few people I trust to watch my pets. I’ve had a special needs dog who didn’t like too many people and who had seizures. Melissa was able to befriend her and knew what to do in the case of a seizure. She was also great with my super shy little Boston terrier and scruffy little guy. The animals just knew she was a friend immediately. She’s a very compassionate and caring person and truly loves animals. I highly recommend her if you are looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.

Melissa is my best friend and the best cat auntie to my two cats! She has tons of experience caring for animals! She worked for a rescue for a few years and is the only one I trust with my girls! They absolutely love her! I know when shes watching them that they are in good hands! She not only takes care of them but she gives them all the attention, pets and love that they could possibly need while she's caring for them!

Schedule

My part-time schedule as a local kennel technician makes me incredibly flexible for pet sitting! I work from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM (about 25 hours a week), which leaves my entire midday window from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM wide open for lunchtime walks, playtime, and companionship. I am also available for quick check-ins before my morning shift, and my evenings are completely free after 6:30 PM for late-night cuddles and dedicated overnight stays. Because my daily job already centers around professional feeding, medicating, and cleaning, keeping your pet's routine seamless and sanitary between my shifts is second nature to me!

When it comes to your pet's routine, honesty is always the best policy! Because every pet is an individual with unique quirks, the more information you can share, the better we can set everyone up for success. To ensure your furbaby stays happy, healthy, and safe, I love to know ahead of time about any specific medical needs, medication schedules, or behavioral history. Please don't hesitate to share if they have any specific "buttons" that shouldn't be pushed, or if they tend to react a certain way when you are away. With my extensive professional background, I’ve worked with almost every scenario, and having this insight allows us to build a trusting, seamless relationship so your pet feels entirely comfortable and secure every time you leave! 📝🐾
