Hi, I'm Melissa! I grew up surrounded by pets, and that passion grew into a lifelong career in animal care. I bring over a decade of professional facility experience to Rover, including serving as a Pack Leader at Tailwaggers Doggy Daycare and spending seven years as a specialized Caregiver at the world-renowned Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. There, I worked with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and behavioral needs, including dog-selective and dog-aggressive behaviors. Currently, I keep my skills sharp working part-time as a Kennel Technician at a daycare and boarding facility right here in Green Bay. Because of my professional background, I’m highly experienced with administering medications, recognizing subtle body language, and reinforcing basic training. I know how important routine is, so I am more than happy to strictly follow whatever household rules you have set for your pet. Whether your furbaby is a social butterfly or a quiet soul who needs a patient, gentle approach, I have the intuitive skills to make them feel safe and loved. When I’m not caring for your pets, I’m hanging out with my own senior "puppy," a 9-year-old dog named Alba (pictured with me!), and my 14-year-old "kitten." I love house-sitting, overnight stays, and dog walking, and my ultimate goal is to give you total peace of mind while you're away. I can’t wait to meet your furbabies!

Schedule
My part-time schedule as a local kennel technician makes me incredibly flexible for pet sitting! I work from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM (about 25 hours a week), which leaves my entire midday window from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM wide open for lunchtime walks, playtime, and companionship. I am also available for quick check-ins before my morning shift, and my evenings are completely free after 6:30 PM for late-night cuddles and dedicated overnight stays. Because my daily job already centers around professional feeding, medicating, and cleaning, keeping your pet's routine seamless and sanitary between my shifts is second nature to me!

- When it comes to your pet's routine, honesty is always the best policy! Because every pet is an individual with unique quirks, the more information you can share, the better we can set everyone up for success. To ensure your furbaby stays happy, healthy, and safe, I love to know ahead of time about any specific medical needs, medication schedules, or behavioral history. Please don't hesitate to share if they have any specific "buttons" that shouldn't be pushed, or if they tend to react a certain way when you are away. With my extensive professional background, I’ve worked with almost every scenario, and having this insight allows us to build a trusting, seamless relationship so your pet feels entirely comfortable and secure every time you leave! 📝🐾
