Dogs are natures best medicine

UPDATE!!!! We are settling well into our new living arrangement while our apartment is being renovated. It is in the same community and I am going to be accepting regular clients to visit again for overnight weekend stays and weekend day visits, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. As some of you know in very particular situations I will extend those visits into the work week when and if I can when I know you and your pet and their needs well enough to do so. Thank you for your understanding throughout this difficult time. Attention: On June 24th my family and I suffered a tragedy in that we lost our home when our Apartment caught fire As many of my regulars know this is the time of year when I open my calendar completely because I am on summer lay off/break and use Rover as a way to supplement my income for the season. With the loss of our home this will no longer be a viable option for us this summer. We apologize to all our regulars who depended on us for care this summer and if you private message me I may be able to offer some suggestions for alternative sitter(s). The Rover community is wonderful and there are many great sitters out there waiting for a chance to get to know you as well. I hope to soon be once again in a settled enough position to invite my Rover friends to stay with us. Thank you. Have a great summer. God Bless I love all things dogs but I am limited as to how many I can have. I am a part time chef/ stay at home single mom with one child who also loves dogs. Pet sitting is an awesome and fun way to spend time with dogs while making extra money. Dogs really are God’s most perfect creature. They truly do make the best friends. I’m the type of person who will make friends with your dog before I do with you. In fact that is how I met almost all my neighbors.I live in a rather large dog friendly community. Just about everyone here has a dog in the family. I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like or one who didn’t like me. It is my belief that all animals deserve to be happy and have a fufilled quality of life where they are loved and cared for. If I can help others to provide care for their doggie family members by sittng or walking them then I am helping the dogs of the world to a better life, while being of service to theiir human families.

Melissa graciously accepted my last minute booking on the Mother's Day weekend. She also sent us many pictures of our pup so we knew it was well taken care of.

A typical day

I live in a beautiful garden like neighborhood with a wooded park across the street and lots of areas for walking and within walking distance of two dog friendly parks. Chilito, Beans and I walk around our entire neighborhood most days. Playing tug of war and fetch is great fun and the parks in my neighborhood provide lots of space to play. A short driving distance away is the off leash dog park for more social doggies who do better off leash and I am always up to taking dogs who are allowed to go on field trips to this dog park. I have a large enough vechile to provide plenty of safe space for multiple animals. We love to snuggle up and take long naps for our less active dogs friends or inclement days when it’s too cold or wet to play outside or just too hot! We have plenty of toys, balls, and interactive puzzle games to stimulate, reward and entertain our four legged visitors.

I like to know how they do on and off leash, how they get along with other dogs, what their preferences are. If they are gentle, quiet, hyper, active, calm, big eaters or beggars. Just like people dogs have their own unique personalities and ways of communicating. I like to know all about the personlity of each dog to find the best matches for the dogs in my care. I also like to know about unique behavoiral triats or phobias, as well as eating and potty habits. I do have a preference for smaller breeds such as dachshunds, chihuahuas, terriers, pugs, poms, poodles, and beagles, but I love all and any dogs. I am most definitely willing to work with smaller sized pitbulls and don’t believe any of the things they say about pit bulls that have garnered them the unfair and often untrue reputations they have. I only ask that dogs over 100lbs not apply for care with me. It’s not that I don’t love them as well, I just don’t have the space, height, energy or ability to care properly for larger dogs. I also need to be upfront and honestly say that I am not qualified to work with sick or special needs dogs as I do not have the proper training to care for sick dogs.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
