Hi there! My name is Meliset, and caring for animals runs in my blood. My mother was a veterinarian back home in the Dominican Republic, and her love for animals quickly transferred to her kids. I’ve been surrounded by pets since I was 1 year old from rabbits and chickens to all kinds of dogs..you name it, we’ve had it! I recently moved into my spacious NYC apartment, which has four rooms and a long hallway perfect for pets to roam and play safely indoors. I’m also conveniently located near two beautiful parks, both with dog parks nearby : perfect for walks, socialization, and fresh air. This year, I’m taking time off from the corporate world, so I have plenty of time and energy to give your precious pets the love and attention they deserve. They might even go home a little more spoiled! 😊 I only host up to two animals at a time, ensuring your pet receives a calm, clean, and comfortable environment so it's never overcrowded or chaotic like some other sitters. Because this is not my primary income, I don’t overbook, and I’m able to focus fully on your pet’s needs. I also share my home with a friendly British Shorthair cat, so please let me know if your pet doesn’t do well around cats. I can always make adjustments to keep everyone comfortable. My home is always kept clean and cozy, and I treat every animal that visits like part of my family. Feel free to reach out to schedule a meet and greet. I will start my comment as “a trip saver🙂”. As you know, anyone can experience a last minute unexpected change of plan. We had a trip and the person who was going to stay with our dog, couldn’t do it. My husband and I were going crazy without knowing what we were going to do with our dog. We started asking around but our family/friends couldn’t do it due to the allergies, away from town… I didn’t know anything about, “Rover”. Guess what? My 8 yrs old came with the brilliant idea of “mom, I saw this advertisement on my tablet and is about a website where you can find a babysitter for your dog”. So I followed my daughter ‘s advice and Thank God I did! I decided to check and I found Meliset. I started to read her reviews and it gave me so much confidence to have her care for our dog and let me tell you that I don’t regret not even little bit… The day before we dropped off our Gio, we met Melissa and as soon as my dog came out of the car, he felt like it was his house🥰. Melisa greeted us and we felt like Gio belonged there… She’s such a sweet and attentive person. I couldn’t ask for a better person to care for Gio while we were on vacation. She sent us pics and videos of Gio and that gave us so much peace of knowing that Gio was also having a great time… I cannot thank her enough for “saving our trip” but also for dedicating her time to care for Gio. I recommend Melisa 100%!!!! Trust me, you won’t regret it 🥇.
Meliset is hands down the best pet sitter I’ve ever had! Not only does she understand cats, but she genuinely loves my cats—maybe even more than I do. Her own cat, Bear, was the sweetest host and became an instant friend to my two cats. They played together like they had known each other forever, and Bear even shared his food and treats with them! I’ve never seen my cats so happy and comfortable while I was away. They’ve found their new best friend, and I’ve found my go-to pet sitter. Highly recommend Meliset to anyone who wants their pets to be truly loved and cared for!
Meliset took care of Teo for a full week, and I’m so thankful for the care and attention she gave him. Teo can be a little anxious, especially when I’m away, but Meliset was so patient and understanding with him. She made sure he felt comfortable and safe. Meliset kept me updated with messages which really helped ease my worries too. By the time I returned, Teo was calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. I truly appreciate the love and effort Meliset put into looking after him. Highly recommended!
I've witnessed firsthand the positive impact Meliset has on animals. Her caring nature and patient approach provides a safe and happy environment for animals. My dog adores Meliset! She is extremely reliable and my dog always comes home happy and relaxed after being in her care. She keeps me updated and I trust her implicitly with my pet. I'm currently not working and have plenty of time needed to dedicate to taking care of your pet. I'm super attentive , organized and responsible. I would not leave your pet unattended and they might come back super spoiled.

My spacious NYC apartment has plenty of room to explore, with four rooms and a long hallway perfect for stretching their legs or playing indoors. I live near two beautiful parks that both have dog parks, so your pet will enjoy safe and fun walks in a clean, pet-friendly neighborhood. Inside my home, pets are free to roam, I don’t believe in keeping animals caged or confined. I always keep my space clean, secure, and calm, making it ideal for both dogs and cats to feel at home. Please let me know in advance if your pet has any bathroom routines, triggers, or special needs so I can make their stay as smooth and stress-free as possible.

A typical day
I love keeping pets active, happy, and engaged! We’ll go on daily walks to explore the beautiful parks nearby, both have great dog areas for playtime and fresh air. Indoors, my spacious apartment and long hallway make perfect spots for gentle play, fetch, or cozy cuddle sessions. For cats, I set up enrichment time with toys, windows for bird-watching, and lots of affection (if they want it!). Every pet has their own personality, so I always adjust activities to match their comfort level and energy.
