Melisa did a great job watching our dogs and cat over the weekend! Would highly recommend her!!

Incredible communication and took great care of our dog! She went above and beyond in making sure our dog was cared for including taking her out every 2 hours and making sure she was happy!

My boyfriend and I just moved into a new apartment together and got our carpets professionally cleaned a day before our vacation. We hired Melisa to care for our dog and cat while we were out of state for a week. Since Melisa had good reviews, we assumed that our pets and our home were in good hands. However, we were completely caught off guard by the state of our apartment when we returned from vacation. Immediately when we walked inside, we stepped in kitty litter and dry urine. The apartment reeked of urine and feces. Come to find out, Melisa never once cleaned the litter box. Our cat has an automatic feeder, so we ended up paying our cat's fee just for Melisa to show up and do nothing for him. In addition to the cat stains, there were bright red stains on the carpet that were not there before we left. As for our dog, Melisa was a nightmare. We received a text that our dog didn't want to go outside during the visit and that she insisted on laying in the crate. Sometimes our dog is lazy and she is shy with strangers, so I wasn't worried. Since we paid for two visits a day, I replied that it is fine and to let her out in the evening. Melisa fed her for at least 60 hours without letting her outside. When our dog inevitably relieved herself inside two and a half days later, urine and feces soaked in the carpet for an unknown amount of time as Melisa commonly skipped Rover check ins/updates. We received cards at seemingly random times. Melisa at least had the foresight to eventually bag the poop and throw it out, but the damage to our carpet was done. We are still trying to get the odor/stickiness out and are going to have to hire professional carpet cleaners again, which is even more money to sink into this disaster. When we first met Melisa, she appeared very friendly and responsive. Before our flight, we showed her where food/medication is kept and let her know what needs to be done. Afterwards, we even updated our care instructions on Rover as a helpful reference. I don't think she was paying attention, though. Here is a list of instructions she ignored. She forgot about dog food and texted us a picture of milkbone dog treats to ask us if it was our dog's food. After looking at the pill bottle and experiencing Melisa's poor care, I'm confident she didn't listen to or read the care instructions about our dog's anxiety medication. However, I can't confirm 100% since we never received any communication about our dogs medication beyond confirmation of the dosage. She did not clean the litter box at all, not even once. She did not let our dog outside. From Saturday night to the evening of Tuesday, our dog was kept inside. I assumed that these instructions were basic and common sense, but Melisa unfortunately stumbled at every step. When we reached out to Melisa about her neglect and the disgusting, unsanitary state of our apartment, she blamed the care instructions (which she ignored) and didn't mention the visit we paid for to give her an explanation and show her where everything is. During this visit, we explained that we had never used Rover before and asked if there was anything else from us that she needed. Melisa replied that the care instructions were adequate and she understood everything. Melisa ended up refunding us $82.04 of the $257.82 we paid after offering us a $150 refund.

Melissa was so great with Vincent! 10/10.

Melisa took great care of Dakota. Texted updates and was prompt with communication. Even took Dakota for a walk without me requesting it. Could tell Dakota had a good experience with her.

Melisa communicated great with me, took initiative with some minor problems that up with my dog’s collar, and took care of my energetic doodle.
