Hello! Thank you for visiting my Rover page. I’m Melanie, an animal lover and pet sitter based in Manhattan. I owned multiple dogs growing up and miss being around animals, which is why I started pet-sitting. A little bit more about me: I currently live in FiDi area and work mostly remotely in tech. I’ve been living in NYC for over a year, and moved here from the Bay Area where I also attended college. I’m originally from LA. My experience: - I’ve owned and worked with various dog breeds (including large dogs) and temperaments - I love taking long walks with my pet guests and live right by Battery Park - I’ve volunteered at animal shelters for several years, not only walking dogs but also taking care of cleaning and feeding (including cats) - I’m communicative and love taking pictures of my pet guests and will send lots of updates while they stay with me! Melanie was absolutely incredible with Bella! She took such wonderful care of her and even took her out to Central Park, which Bella loved. Communication was seamless! Melanie kept me updated with pictures and was incredibly understanding and flexible. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Bella was in such attentive, loving hands. I can’t recommend Melanie enough and will definitely be booking with her again!

Melanie was so great! From communication, to sharing tons of pictures with Kiwi, I felt very confident that Kiwi was having such a good time! Melanie was super kind and looked after Zoro really well, shared regular updates, and took him for long walks which are his favourite! Would love to have Zoro stay with her again :)
Melanie was a fantastic dog sitter for our pup Frankie! She proactively suggested a meet-and-greet, and even went out of her way to pick her up since we had an early morning flight. She took Frankie on long walks by the water and sent lots of photos and videos each day, so we always felt reassured about how she was doing. She was quick to respond and communicative throughout, and we knew Frankie was in great hands. We'll definitely be using her again!
I've known Melanie for several years now, and I can confidently say she is an exceptional pet caregiver. Whenever I've had to travel for work or go on vacation, Melanie has graciously taken care of my dog. She is incredibly responsible, making sure to adhere to feeding schedules, provide exercise, and offer plenty of affection to my furry friend. Melanie goes above and beyond by sending me regular updates and photos, which always put my mind at ease knowing my dog is in such loving hands. Schedule
I have a hybrid work schedule but largely work remotely and can be flexible. Please let me know your preferred dates ahead of time so I can coordinate accordingly.

Safety, trust & environment
I’ve cared for dogs of various sizes and temperaments, so I’m accustomed to handling different types of dogs. I live in an apartment by myself and only host one dog at a time. On walks, I’m mindful of keeping dogs close by and watch out for other dogs, people, etc.
A typical day
I love to take all the dogs I’ve watched to Battery Park for long walks by the river! I also live near a dog park if your dog enjoys spending time with other dogs.
