Hello! I am an empty nester and do dog boarding in my home when available, drop in visits within a 2km radius, weekday daycare within the hours of 7am to 6pm, and dog walking. I have no pets of my own at this time, and can look after up to 2 compatible dogs per day in my home. I live in a townhouse in the Hillcrest area of Cloverdale next to Clayton and have a fully fenced back yard. I am patient and loving, and am experienced with senior dogs. I do not smoke or drink. If you have specific care needs for your dog ie: frequency of potty breaks, walks, timing of treats and or meals, dietary needs, specific commands, amount and type of attention, and routines, I will ensure that your dog’s time in my home reflects your wishes. My home is clean and well kept and dogs always feel at home with me. I am very experienced with both large and small dogs and treat them like they are my best friend. I am a fitness fanatic, and no walk is too long or too short!! If your dog likes exercise I am more than happy to walk for as long as your dog is happy! I LOVE taking photos of dogs so you will get lots of quality photos of your dog in my care. Send me a message and we can arrange a meet and greet!

I had to find someone to take care of Milky for a few hours at night, and Melanie kindly accepted him on very short notice. She took great care of him, took him for a long walk, and kept me updated with pictures, which I really appreciated. Even though it was only for a few hours, I’m very grateful for the care and attention she gave Milky.
Thank you very much for always being so reliable and very nice with Louis and I. I really don’t know what we would do without you ♥️ I’ll keep you posted on my progress and text you when I go back to work or if I will need help before then. I have plenty of opportunity to give your dog lots of love and walks. Because I work from home and can give your pet lots amount of attention and company, it is typically very easy for dogs to adjust to staying with me.

I have a fully fenced back yard with grass, and a covered ground level deck. Your dog must be friendly and compatible with other dogs.
A typical day
I am an avid runner, walker, and fitness fanatic so whether your dog likes short walks or long walks and runs, I am happy to accommodate. I like to vary the walking routes and there are lots of different places to walk in my neighbourhood.

- Please advise if your dog has any unique habits or behaviours I should be aware of. Letting me know what commands your dog understands is helpful. Please bring comfort items such as toys and a blanket from your home. Treats and poop bags are a must. A raincoat is very helpful for rainy days. Your dog must be fully house trained. Because I work from home, I am unable to accommodate dogs with severe separation anxiety or that bark a lot inside the home. I am also unable to accommodate dogs that heavily drool or slobber. If your dog likes to chew things like furniture or baseboards, you must provide a crate for when I am not able to provide direct supervision ie: being on a work call, going to grocery store.
