I'm a member of one of those families who frames photos of our dogs and has Christmas gifts wrapped for them! Dogs fulfill my life, and I feel we can learn so much from their unconditional, giving love. I've never been without a dog! My husband, four children (ages 11-18), and I work together to ensure your pet’s happiness & comfort. I am very experienced in caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes. I'm most experienced with the Shih Tzu, Labrador & Golden Retriever breeds, but I love dogs of all shapes and sizes. Our house is clean and full of warmth and love. My Shih Tzu, Penny, is 8 years old and doesn't know a stranger. Your dog will be doted on, played with, fed according to your instruction, and given tons of attention. We have many repeat clients and “regulars.” We’d love to be your pets’ new home away from home! From the minute your pet arrives, we act in a way that ensures your pet gets the sense he/she is just another member of the family. Lots of special attention at first to make sure he settles in well, and soon he should feel right at home and a beloved member of our pack of humans and furry friends. We typically keep one dog at a time, sometimes two. Our sweet Shih Tzu, Penny, is always with us. We can't wait to meet you!

Melanie is the BEST!!! I’m not the biggest review-writer, but I just had to write one for Melanie. I needed a rover last minute. I reached out and she responded within minutes. She kept me updated during Winston’s whole stay, including photos and videos!! Excellent communicator! Truly great people. Your babies will be loved and cared for in this home. I recommend indefinitely - 10/5 stars!!!!
We used Melanie as our sitter when our normal sitter had to cancel at the last minute. Thanks to her and her husband, we did not have to cancel our trip. She took great care of our dog and treated him like one of her own. She provided timely updates and lots of pictures.
Melanie and her family were absolutely wonderful!! They made our Lola feel as though she was home and most importantly, a part of their family!

Schedule
I work as a Shipt shopper and substitute teacher, so I have a flexible schedule! My husband works from home, so he’s here all day for lots of potty breaks and treats.

A typical day
When your dog is with us, it is full on Camp Melanie. She have so much fun! Our family loves to hike on the weekends, sometimes Oak Mountain, Moss Rock Preserve, or anywhere that fits your pet’s needs and how much exercise our family is feeling that day. ? We may go to Aldridge Gardens in Hoover and walk the paths for lots of sniffs. We will always let you know if we have to go out of town, but we take your pet with us everywhere, if it falls within your stay and drop off and pick up works out! Our Rover buddies have been with us to Lake Martin, Seagrove Beach, weekends at a resort in Georgia, and even the mountains!
