Hi, I’m Mel! Animals have been a huge part of both my professional and personal life for as long as I can remember. I currently work at a pet boarding facility where I care for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, personalities and energy levels. Every day has taught me how important it is to pay attention to each pets individual needs, read their body language, and help them feel comfortable and safe while in my care. Before that, I worked as an Assistant Manager at a pet store for nearly three years, where I gained extensive knowledge of pet care, nutrition and customer education. I’ve also enjoyed participating in pet-centred community events, including rescue and adoption focused events, which has allowed me to connect with even more animals and pet owners. I’m also the proud pet parent of Moo, my rescue Border Collie mix. Moo has been working on building his confidence around other dogs and fast moving things like bikes and scooters, and I’ve spent years working alongside his trainer to support his progress. That experience has taught me so much about patience, recognizing triggers, positive reinforcement, and meeting dogs where they’re at. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, so I’d love to learn all about their routines, quirks, favourite treats and anything that helps them feel happiest. My goal is to make every visit feel safe, fun and tailored to your pet as an individual. I work rotating shifts, so my availability varies from day to day. I’m always happy to coordinate schedules ahead of time and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention before and after my shifts. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! 🐾

I currently offer care in your home, where I can keep your pet comfortable in their familiar environment and follow their normal routine as closely as possible. I have reliable transportation, so I’m able to travel to your home for scheduled overnights, walks and drop-in visits!

Melanie has Cat Sitted for me multiple times over the years for my Sphynx Cats. Sphynx cats being a very unique breed sometimes have higher maintenance requirements for care and Melanie was understanding and thorough when going through all instructions provided; she gave timely updates and I can tell my cats were comfortable being around her! I highly recommend Melanie, she provides excellent service. I would never leave my pets with anyone who doesn't seem like an animal person; Melanie exemplifies someone who truly loves animals and is passionate about their health and care.
Melanie is a kind loving and nurturing person with pet friends. She's helped cat-sit for me and was flexible with my concerns and schedule. While I was sick I was very grateful that she took care keeping my Dolly well looked after loved and cared for when I wasn't able to. She sent me updates and always kept me in the loop. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine! I work at a pet boarding facility, so I’m around dogs and cats regularly. My schedule varies because I work rotating shifts, but I’m happy to coordinate walks and visits around my schedule and your pet’s routine.
