I work online as a freelance editor, do some exam invigilation around Shoreham and Worthing and sometimes teach in Brighton on a part-time basis. This means that I can spend a lot of time keeping your pets company and ensuring they feel cared for. I like hiking, running and reading - all things that are easy to adapt to the pets I am caring for.

A typical day
I love taking dogs for walks. I’m a keen hiker, so I’m happy to go on long walks for dogs with lots of energy or just short walks for those that prefer that. I also enjoy playing other games such as throwing balls. For cats, I just love spending time with them, giving them plenty of tickles and playing whatever games they enjoy.

Pet care experience
I have had pets all my life, including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Everyone who knows me knows that I’m an animal lover and also very reliable, and I am their go-to person when they need someone to look after their pets. Over the years, I have been entrusted with cats, dogs, fish and chickens, amongst other pets. I love their company and interacting with them on their own terms. I have experience with both senior cats and dogs and am comfortable giving medication. As a keen hiker and runner, I enjoy going on adventures with dogs, and because I work online, I can spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care. I love nature and am very happy to look after plants and gardens.

Melanie is absolutely wonderful - totally reliable, honest and professional, and the dogs and cats adore her! She takes the dogs on long hikes "their adventures" and they are both so excited on her arrival. I always use Melanie and have no hesitation at all in recommending her, we have booked her in for the rest of the year for several dates - I wouldn't use anyone else!
Having known Melanie for many years I can honestly say she has a great love for all cats. She has looked after my cats on several occasions and done so with great enthusiasm and no problems. The cats are always sad to see her go. She is prompt and reliable and always eager to please.
