Hello :) my name is Melanie and my partner is Briscoe. We live in Jersey City with our two older kitties; Nico and Anastasia (🪽Rest in peace the most precious angel August 2010- 12/28/2025🪽). Looking forward to meeting new furry friends in the Jersey City area! We offer kitty sitting in our home. I work from home now and will be around all day except for shorts errands and appointments. We have a large, 2 story, 2 bedroom space for your kitties to explore. The master bedroom has a balcony view where they can watch birds all day. We have 3 water fountains and can set up to 4 litter boxes if needed. Our cats get homemade food plus supplements so I am accustomed to more complex dietary needs. Growing up, my family had a variety of pets including: rabbits, cats, horses, doves, and a dog. This has given me a broad, well-rounded understanding of animal care. In middle school, neighborhood dog walking was my first business. A few years later, I began working for my horse’s vet on weekends. This included a small animal hospital on the premise along with the large animal hospital. There I learned much more about administering meds, bathing dogs, keeping charts and cleaning kennels. Our pets are family members. Their safety will be my number one concern while walking, performing checks or hosting them at my home. I will provide pictures and videos daily on their stay, while being fully available to communicate with the owners and alleviate fears. Please feel free to message and ask any questions :)

Melanie took amazing care of Nala! From the moment we dropped her off, it was clear that she genuinely cares about animals. She made Nala feel comfortable and at home, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Nala looked happy, relaxed, and well cared for the entire time. If you need a cat sitter, I highly recommend Melanie who communicated consistently and reliably. She kept my worries at bay during an extended trip by giving me updates on my cat and the snowstorm. My cat warmed up to her and she gave me peace of mind by sending video and photo updates every visit.
My cat, Simba, can be quite mean to newcomers but Melanie handled it so gracefully to make sure Simba was well taken care of and comfortable! Highly recommend booking Melanie.

Schedule
I currently work from home with full flexibility. The schedule can be whatever works best for my furry clients! Sometimes we take vacations but that should be reflected in the app whenever I’m out of town.

Safety, trust & environment
Our home is well set up for visiting cats. We have a spacious two story townhome with 2 bedrooms. Depending on the individual cat, they can be confined to a room if it makes them feel safer or they can explore the house if they want more adventure. There is a balcony for bird watching upstairs and windows downstairs with a cat tree! We will be keeping our own cats separate so there won’t be any problems or stress :)

A typical day
Let’s check out the parks and walks nearby. Investigate the new sites and smells together! I’d love to hear about their favorite games and play with them. For in home kitty guests: we have cat nip, toys, feathers, laser pointer, cat tree, and cat beds for all playing and napping needs. Our cats’ favorite activity is the bird watching from the upstairs bedroom balcony!
