🌱 A Bit About Me I’m a lifelong animal lover who studied animal science in college. I care deeply about animals and their welfare, which has led me to become vegan and previously volunteer at shelters and rescues. My full-time job isn't animal-related, so I enjoy working with pets on the side through a local pet sitting company and Wag!. I love caring for pets because I know I'm doing something important - helping to meet their needs for exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization. ________________ 🐕 Sorry, I am not taking pitbulls and a handful of other breeds not covered by homeowners insurance. ________________ 🌲 Hikes and Excursions - Available weeknights and weekends - I'd love to help meet your dog's needs for exercise, mental stimulation, and exploration by taking them on a longer walk - Longer walk around your neighborhood or to a local park such as Theodore Wirth (no dog parks) - Includes a map of the route and distance - I can jog with pups that have a need for speed - they set the pace and can stop and sniff to their heart's content - $30 for first hour and $15 for each additional hour; additional fee for travel to a destination

Melanie is always so great with my pups! I appreciate that she sends updates each day (really just for my own peace of mind) and she's very responsive, caring, and I can tell they have a great time with her!
Melanie was great with our cat while we were away! Did all the food/water/play things and sent us an awesome update with pictures. Our cat can be a little particular and she picked up on his queues really well and things went really smoothly.
This was our first time using Melanie to watch our 2 dogs. She boarded them in her home, which provided us great peace of mind vs. boarding at a kennel. She was very attentive to our care instructions and followed them to a T. Her daily updates were fantastic. She provided a very detailed recap of the stay every day. Sending many awesome photos each day. She works from home, so our dogs received attention all the time they were there. She treated them as if they were her own pets, allowing them to cuddle up on the couch with her or hop into bed, which is their normal routine. She was very accommodating to our drop-off and pick-up schedule due to our flight times for our trip. She has a fenced in back yard so our puppies had a place to roam free if they wanted. We would not hesitate to have Melanie watch our pups again, and hope she will welcome them back the next time we take a trip. Thank you very much, Melanie, for the excellent care. Winnie and Rue loved it.
Melanie was great! It was a last minute request that I sent out to a few walkers and Melanie replied promptly and luckily was available that morning to walk my baby Leo. I say baby because he is six months BUT really 86lbs and curious! Melanie did great with him! She went on a long walk and even took photos! Melanie is a sweetheart, my Leo loved her immediately.
Melanie went above and beyond to take care of my elderly dog with lots of special food needs. She’s great!
Melanie is absolutely amazing!! She took such great care of my pups while I was away. I would 100% ask for her help again. Thank you, Melanie!

I work remotely and am home most of the time. However, please note that on each of the following dates, I will be working a side job and can't accommodate drop-offs and pickups before 2:30pm and would need to leave your pet alone for up to 6.5 consecutive hours. 2026: 8/29-8/30 9/12-9/13 10/10-10/11 10/24-10/25 10/31-11/1 11/7-11/8 11/21-11/22

🏠 I work from home, so I'll be a regular presence (especially important for dogs with separation anxiety) and able to provide frequent potty breaks 💕 I don't have pets of my own, so if your dog is staying with me, they'll get all of the attention; no risk of them not getting along with other animals 👟 Can jog with higher-energy dogs ✅ Experienced - I have two years of experience providing overnight dog sittings and three years of experience working part-time for a local pet sitting business 🏡 My backyard has a six-foot privacy fence and pea gravel ground covering (see the first photo of my gallery)
A typical day
I will try to replicate your dog's daily routine as much as possible, through frequent let-outs, playtime, treats/Kongs/puzzles/bones, walks, and snuggles. I know how important regular exercise, mental stimulation, and love is for our four-legged friends.
