Hi I'm Melanie! I run a small nonprofit called Time is Precious Pet Rescue and my dream is to open a fully operational shelter and transport system. I've loved animals since I could walk and have hundreds of dogs and cats come through my care along with small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, farm animals, and birds! I have work experience as a kennel technician in veterinary, municipal shelter, and boarding/training environments. I hold a CVA level 1, several Fear Free Pets certifications, and a USDA transporter certification through my rescue work.

During my time at the clinic I became very familiar with harnessing, leashing, and collaring rambunctious dogs as well as coaxing reluctant animals into their kennels I use a fear free approach (lots of treats and toys!) and do not condone dragging pulling or pushing pets unless it is the safest course of action in an emergency situation. I am also experienced in giving medications and monitoring pets for signs of distress or illness.

Melanie is our go to gal for watching our fur babies! Not only is she professional, thorough, and sweet - she is also personable. Even though Rover notifies you when your sitter has arrived, Melanie sends her own personal message informing you she’s on-site. She also sends pictures/videos of your pets along with verbal updates. She likes to do a meet and greet before your actually booking which is nice. This is when you give her your notes/request/suggestions and overall routine of your pets. She immediately won over my pets and embraced their chaos - She is also armed and loaded with bite sized treats. Melanie is trustworthy and truly loves animals. Do yourself a favor and use her - we’re already booking her again!
Melanie is absolutely amazing! My dogs adore her and she was so great at communicating and checking in with me on how they are doing. I am so thankful to have someone like her watch my pups!

Schedule
I'm currently a part-time online student at Lone Star college so my availability is wide open I will try my best to stick to your pets current schedule as much as possible to make their time away from you as easy on them as it can be.
