Every dog needs unique care
I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10, and I've raised my own two from puppies, just six months apart. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to check in with, feed, and play with their pets over the years, and I've cared for puppies, seniors, and anxious dogs along the way. I've spent time studying dog communication, so I pay close attention to what a dog is telling me rather than assuming I already know. I'm patient and persistent when meeting someone new, some dogs take a little longer to warm up. If your pup has a habit of testing fences or slipping out doors, that's familiar territory too. One of my sweet dogs is an escape artist, so I know how to keep an adventurous spirit safely contained without making them feel cooped up.

You will love working with Melanie! She loves dogs and always has a kind demeanor when playing with and taking care of my dog. She is always gentle and made my pup feel special. She is reliable, made sure he had his needs met and she liked to play with him. She was good about following my instructions, which made leaving my Klaus with her less stressful. I have used her seven times now and will continue. He always seems happy after his time with Melanie. Would recommend!

Schedule
I'm not working right now, so my schedule is pretty open. I can do walks, feeding, and playtime whenever works best for your dog's routine, not just squeezed into a couple hours. Boarding works any day of the week for me, and if something comes up last minute, I can usually make it work.

I've got two friendly Samoyeds who love everyone, and a fenced yard for your pup to run around in. Days are pretty calm and low-key around here, but once the temp is right we head out for walks, hikes, or car rides most evenings, so your dog gets some downtime and some activity. I can crate if that's what your dog's used to, and I'll stick to whatever routine they already have (feeding, sleeping, house rules, all of it). Mostly I just keep an eye on them and make sure they're comfortable, especially those first couple days while they're getting used to things. It is a big moment for them being away from family!

A typical day
Plenty of dog walks, playtime with my pups and myself, and training commands to help strengthen our bond and trust. I like mixing things up with dog puzzles to keep them mentally engaged too, not just physically tired out. Of course there's always time set aside for pets and cuddles.

- Let me know if your dog has any destructive or concerning behaviors I should watch for so they don't get into trouble. It also really helps to know their common commands ahead of time so I can communicate with them the way they're used to. I want them to feel comfortable with me as quickly as possible
