Experienced lifelong dog lover offering in my home boarding for smaller, calmer, senior, or already-trained dogs. And drop-in Visits to your home for most size dogs. After taking time away from Rover to recover from back surgery, I’m excited to be available again! My services have changed a bit over time, and I now focus primarily on caring for dogs in my home rather than traveling to clients’ homes for in home stays. Because of some physical limitations, I’m best suited for smaller, senior, calmer, or already-trained dogs rather than large, very active, or high-energy pets needing long walks or strenuous activity. My goal is to provide a safe, relaxed, loving environment where your dog can feel comfortable and cared for. I generally keep one clients dog at a time so I can give your pet all of my attention. You won’t find 4, 5 or more dogs here, ever! I have a medium sized female retired service dog in my home who is extremely well trained and friendly with most animals, so all pets must be comfortable around another dog. I have experience with more breeds then I can count, crate training, house training, senior & specialty (medical) pet care. I treat every pet like family and always follow owners’ instructions carefully. For safety and compatibility, all new clients are required to complete a neutral-location meet & greet before booking. I do not accept last-minute first-time bookings without meeting beforehand. We were so lucky to have found Melanie and Stella. Our Zoey is nearly 17 and has some health issues. Melanie provided excellent care and sent daily updates while we were on travel. Zoey and Stella got along well. We will definitely try to book again with Melanie in the future.

This was my first time using Melanie for my older dog Brady and she went above and beyond what was required. My dog had a medical emergency and she was calm and handled it like a pro. She sent daily updates and pictures and I felt like he was in good hands the whole time. I will definitely use Melanie again.

Schedule
I no longer work outside of the home so I have a flexible schedule that allows me to do drop in visits & walks with those clients who need it. For my in home visits, I will treat your pet like my own. With a doggie door and spacious back yard your baby can play outside as little or as much as they like. My home is pet/dog friendly. Allowing your pet and mine to lay on the furniture or their own beds if they prefer. I keep separate feeding areas so there is no fighting over food and never feed a visiting pet people food. Treats are given with owners permission. For the most part I’m at home during the day & night therefore I can maintain your/pets schedules easily. With potty breaks often & walks if needed.

Safety, trust & environment
I care for each pet as if they were my own, and following any instructions the owner may have of course. I love all animals and they seem to love me. Making it easy to give each pet the special attention they need during my visit. When going to a clients home, I follow your instructions to the letter. But never keep door codes after jobs are over for safety reasons.

A typical day
We can go on leased walks, play indoor/outdoor with toys and/or cuddle on couch. Stomach rubs and rear scratches are always free with my visits!
