Highlights
Pet care experience
Med student with spare time & love!
I have grown up with dogs and cats from the time I was a newborn. I have had small, medium, and large dogs throughout my life (and bonus cats at my grandma’s house!). As a medical student living away from home, my classmates have come to rely on me to pet sit (dogs & cats) and house sit for them any time they’re out of town. It’s an absolute treat for me to spend time with animals again! I’m comfortable helping to train puppies, snuggling seniors, and playing with every age in between.

Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
Because I grew up with dogs of all ages and sizes, I’m very comfortable with dogs of different temperaments, care needs, and crating requirements. Cats with high-care needs will likely be out of my comfort zone, but I’m always eager to learn something new!
Ratings and reviews
Where do I start? The 4Ds (Dottie, Donnie, Dollie, Dorrie – Miniature Schnauzers) are already asking, “When is Aunt Melanie coming back?” From the first moment of meeting Melanie, I knew it couldn’t be a better fit. Two of my “kids” are rescues and need extra care, (attention in a different way) while the other two, demand lots of attention. She handled them perfectly. Add my cat Nicky to the mix, (also a bit of an enigma) and it’s a full house. Feeding time is a production, but she didn’t miss a beat and cleaned up everything. I highly recommend Melanie and know we will be using her again. She was my first pet sitter ever, and the experience was 100% positive…we had freedom, and the 4Ds and Nicky were treated to a day with Melanie.
I could not recommend Melanie more! She takes the best care of both my pup and my home when I’m gone. I have a frenchie so he is quite high maintenance and she does a great job at meeting all of his care needs. She is fabulous at keeping me updated with photos and is super communicative which always puts me at ease when I’m not home. She is so respectful of my home and honestly leaves it cleaner than when she arrived. She has watched my pup more times than i can count and would recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, kind, and communicative sitter.

Schedule
As a medical student, my schedule is generally pretty flexible. I will almost always be available to house sit from at least 5pm-6am. On most days, I can take a break at lunch to run over and check on pets or go for a short walk. Depending on my rotation, I may have entire stretches of 3-4 days off! That may sound like a lot to plan around, but I’d love to work with you to accommodate both our schedules as best as possible!
