Hi there! I work as a veterinary technician at a small animal clinic in Missoula. I have worked in veterinary medicine since 2014. I understand animal behavior and their needs. If your pet has medical issues, I can safely administer medications or injections and know what to watch for in case of emergency. If your pet is willing, I can do nail trims or routine ear cleaning if needed. I am Fear Free certified in gentle animal handling and my goal is to always make your pet feel as comfortable as possible. I have experience with exotic pets as well if you are looking for a bird, reptile, or pocket pet sitter. I grew up on a farm and have cared for horses and cattle. I promise to provide a loving, safe environment for your pet, and treat your pet like I treat my own. Pets are family!

Melanie has done a great job with Beans. She obviously loves dogs and has taken him on some great hikes. She handles him very well such that I trust her to keep him safe which is big for me - probably for all dog owners. I also appreciate that she has been a vet tech for many years. She knows dogs and would trust her in any emergency that might arise.

Melanie was great! She looked in on my two cats while I was away, and gave them care & attention- gave me peace of mind they were well taken care of with her photos & note! I’ll definitely book her again, and have already recommended her to a friend!
Melanie is very responsible and LOVES animals. She has her own dogs and cats, and they are family to her. She has worked in veterinary clinics for years and knows how to give medication, watch for signs of illness, and handle any issues that come up. I have never seen her with an animal that did not love her dearly. I am available on weekends and some weekdays or evenings, my schedule varies. Please let me know what you need and I will try to accommodate!

Safety, trust & environment
I offer drop-in visits, dog walking and pet-sitting. I am not available to stay overnight at your home, as I have pets of my own. I can have dog-friendly dogs come stay at my house.

I would love to take your dog for a nice walk or hike. I can play with your cat and give them lots of pets (as tolerated) and treats!
